A new fashion exposition "Cultural Code" opened at the RUSSIA EXPO
A new exposition "Cultural Code" opened in the catwalk area "Fashion Brands of Russia. Evolution of Russian Style".
"Art crafts and national ornaments are reflected in the elements of clothing, they are on each of these several dozen models. This is a great history and a huge labor of people who not only sewed what we see here, but also found these patterns - in many cases as a result of ethnographic expeditions," said Roman Karmanov, Director General of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.
The exposition also features masterpieces of the Valentin Yudashkin Fashion House, which reflect the country's cultural code as clearly as possible.
"We decided to exhibit things that few people have ever seen. These are different collections from 1993, each dress has its own unique story. And all these things were worked on by Russian hands, and this is our Russian cultural code. Nowadays it is difficult to replicate such a thing. But I think that Russian craftsmanship and heritage can be traced in the collections of other Russian designers, it is always with us," said Galina Yudashkina, Creative Director of Valentin Yudashkin Fashion House.
The exposition on the catwalk "Fashion Brands of Russia. Evolution of Russian Style" at the RUSSIA EXPO is changed for the third time.
"Russia has fashion, and it should be proud of it. Today within the "Cultural Code" exposition, unique collections with elements of national identity, cultural code and handicrafts of our country are gathered here - this includes golden sewing, Yelets lace, rich Caucasian collection, and regional brands. And all these designers and fashion makers successfully integrate the cultural code in their work. There are also unique collections by Valentin Yudashkin, Yulia Yanina, Sergei Sysoev and other major brands," said Georgy Rostovshchikov, CEO of Fashion Hub Russia and curator of the catwalk.
Russian designer Sergei Sysoev on the cultural code in his collections:
"All my works contain a hidden cultural code, which nevertheless speaks very vividly for me, I use the excessive decorativeness inherent in Russian national costumes. It can be expressed in muted tones, but it is always a lot of embroidery, applique, a combination of interesting textures, a lot of manual labor. At the same time, it allows things to be replicated, that's why my trademark has existed for more than 25 years," said Sergei Sysoev.
The catwalk features not only "historical", but also quite new models of clothing.
"Our collection "Magic Forest" was created this summer and is decorated with handmade golden sewing with traditional patterns, which are typical for Pomorie - these are mostly plant fairytale patterns: hence the name of the collection. We are very happy to be represented at the RUSSIA EXPO. The fact that we were noticed and our works were appreciated is very important for us, and thanks to this we have a better understanding of how to develop in the future," said Natalia Lysenkovskaya, CEO of Golden Thread of Pomorie LLC (Republic of Karelia).
The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country gathered in one place. During the whole time of the Exposition, guests are welcomed by cultural events, a rich business and educational program. The expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal departments, corporations and public organizations are presented to the visitors.
