A ceremonial line-up in honor of Victory Day was held at the RUSSIA EXPO
The RUSSIA EXPO hosted a ceremonial line-up dedicated to
Victory Day. It was organized by the Exposition Directorate and the Russian
Movement of Children and Youth "Movement of the First". The participants spoke
about the exploits of their ancestors during the Great Patriotic War.
Victory in the Great Patriotic War is a common national
feat, emphasized veteran Nikolai Konstantinovich Imchuk.
"We all participated in the liberation of our Motherland —
men, women, children. We defeated fascism, destroyed it. And now we must rally
all the people around our President and the guys who participate in the special
military operation. My dream is to visit them and support them. So that they
would be inspired to achieve victory, as we did," said Nikolai Konstantinovich.
Victory Day is a very important holiday for everyone in
Russia, noted Eduard Kazymov, a Hero of Russia, Guards Captain, company
commander of the 40th Marine Brigade.
"Today we celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Victory in
the Great Patriotic War. We honor our great-grandfathers, ancestors who forged
this hard victory at the cost of their lives. And at the moment we see by the
example of our state that history is repeating itself again. Our guys, the
Armed Forces, are now also fulfilling their duties, defending the country, and
forging the victory without sparing themselves. Therefore, on this holiday, we
not only honor the memory of the participants of the Great Patriotic War, but
also honor the participants of other conflicts. Defense of the Motherland is
the duty of every citizen," said Eduard Kazymov.
The guests of the Exposition, Victory Volunteers,
representatives of the Movement of the First, the Federal Agency for Youth
Affairs (Rosmolodezh), guides, tour guides of the program "More than a Trip"
also took part in the line-up. The program of solemn events continued with a
procession, in which a combined orchestra of more than 600 musicians took part.
It ended with a festive concert on the Main Street Stage of the Exposition.
"Today the RUSSIA EXPO joins the whole country — together we
celebrate the Great Victory Day. May 9 is a symbol of our fortitude and
courage, steely character — because Russia always keeps going to the end," said
Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy Director General of the RUSSIA EXPO.
According to her, this is not the end of the events at the
RUSSIA EXPO dedicated to Victory Day. On May 10, the Victory Week program will continue with a large concert of the Bolshoi Theatre Children's Choir, which
will be held in Pavilion No. 75. On May 11, the Alexandrov Song and Dance Ensemble will perform. Inturn, on May 11 and 12, the Exposition will mark the tenth anniversary of the
historical event — self-determination of the Lugansk and Donetsk People's
Republics. There will be festive concerts on the Main Street Stage and
in the Cultural Projects Zone in Pavilion No. 75.
