Taking of Paris in 1814 was reenacted at the RUSSIA EXPO
The
All-Russian Historical Reconstruction Festival dedicated to the 210th
anniversary of the triumphant entry of the Russian army into Paris took place
at the RUSSIA EXPO.
"Today
in Russia, there are about 42 thousand reenactors, of which about 5 thousand
are young people. It is important for us to involve the younger generation
because reconstructions recreate scenarios of historical events. It is such
formats that allow both adults and children to immerse themselves in different
historical eras: from Antiquity to the Napoleonic battles. The reconstruction
of historical events recreates a vivid picture of the heroic past of our
ancestors, reminds us of their feats, accomplishments for the good of Russia,
thanks to which we have the most beautiful Motherland on Earth. Today, at the
All-Russian Historical Reconstruction Festival, organized annually by the
Rospatriot program of Rosmolodezh and the All-Russian Public Movement
"ROSRECON," reenactors recreated the Assault on Paris in 1814.
Knowing the responsibility with which representatives of this community
approach their work, it can be said that the preservation of historical truth
is in reliable hands," said Elena Belikova, head of the Rospatriot program
of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.
Visitors to
the Exposition saw with their own eyes the marching camps of the Russian army,
interactive platforms with objects from the XIX century, cavalry competitions
in horse riding, and demonstration rides in ladies' horse riding. The most
vivid event of the day was the military-historical reconstruction "Assault
on Paris. 1814", in which more than 200 reenactors from all over the
country took part.
"We
recreate the Russian Imperial Army of 1812. A regiment from Ufa participated in
the Patriotic War and reached Paris. We, natives of Ufa, decided to recreate
this regiment during the reconstruction. On June 12, 1812, according to the old
style, Napoleon's army invaded Russian territory, but now for us, this day is
Russia Day. On this day, we remember the heroes of those years, the heroes of
the Patriotic War," said the head of the military-historical club
"Ufa Infantry Regiment" Ramil Rakhimov.
As part of
the festival, Exposition visitors also saw a procession dedicated to the entry
of the Russian army into Paris through the gates of Saint-Martin, cavalry
competitions in horse riding, and demonstration performances in ladies' horse
riding.
The
organizer of the festival was the Rospatriot program of Rosmolodezh with the
support of the All-Russian Public Movement "Clubs of Historical
Reconstruction of Russia," the joint-stock company "Exhibition of
Achievements of the National Economy," as well as the RUSSIA EXPO.
