Construction Day launched at the RUSSIA EXPO
An opening ceremony of the Construction Day was held at the International RUSSIA EXPO. It was held in Pavilion No. 15 Building the Future/Russia on the Move. The start of the thematic program at the Exposition was given by Irek Faizullin, Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation. He thanked the representatives of legislative and executive authorities for their joint work and noted that all the achievements of the industry are due to the support and attention of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the Government of the country.
"The VDNH site was originally created to show the achievements of the regions, and today we hold here the Day of Construction, Housing and Utilities. By November, we opened the pavilion - and already more than 150 thousand people have passed through this platform and looked at the directions coordinated by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation. We have achieved all this as a result of great support from the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the Government," said Irek Faizullin.
The construction industry makes a huge contribution to the country's economy, emphasized Inna Svyatenko, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council.
"More than 13% of the gross domestic product is the activity of the construction industry. People, coming to the exposition, want to see the things related to housing, infrastructure facilities, comfortable environment, modern technologies, no doubt pay attention to the construction pace set by the Ministry. Over one hundred million square meters of housing were commissioned during the previous year. These are high results and it is important to continue the development of the industry to ensure the availability of housing and comfortable infrastructure," said Inna Svyatenko.
One of the drivers of development of the construction industry is Moscow, and the work of the Ministry of Construction allows to transfer its achievements to all regions of Russia, said Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Government of Moscow on housing, utilities and amenities Pyotr Biryukov.
"The initiative of the Ministry allows to create similar comfort in our entire country today. Every Russian citizen nowadays knows that there is such a program, a program for creating a comfortable urban environment. Small, medium, large cities find support from the Ministry. It carries out systematic work, creates comfort, holds competitions, identifies the best," said Pyotr Biryukov.
As part of the business program of the Construction Industry Day there will be a meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation. This year it will be held for the first time in a plenary format with the participation of business representatives and major industry corporations. In addition, various masterclasses, lectures and thematic excursions will be held during the day. For example, for children and teenagers there will be a workshop Gamification of Construction, Competition of Engineering Ideas, business game Building a Bridge - Building a Team, interactive Design a Dream House in 90 Minutes and various thematic quizzes. In turn, Pavilion No. 15 all day long will host excursions to the exposition Building the Future, masterclasses by NRU MGSU, MARKHI and key representatives of the business community. Street "field" kitchens will also work all day long.

The final panel pitching session for the "Investments in Connectivity" track took place on 29 April at the National Centre RUSSIA.
On the second day of the Open Dialogue "The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth" the most remarkable essays submitted by authors in each track were presented.
The topic "Investments in Human Capital" attracted the largest number of essays from around the world, becoming one of the most in-demand themes within the framework of the Open Dialogue.
