The "Future in Flowers" festival has started at the RUSSIA EXPO
Guests will be able to see 100 million flowers from different parts of Russia. They were arranged in flowerbeds prepared by all Exposition participants — regions, ministries and companies. The festival is organized with the support of the Moscow Government.
"Today we have launched the "Future in Flowers" festival, which has no analogues in the world. The RUSSIA EXPO presents flower compositions of ministries, major corporations and all 89 regions. Each of them demonstrates its view of the future through natural and technological features. There will be many masterclasses and other events for guests. We invite everyone to this incredible festival of beauty — there has never been and will never be anything like it anywhere else!" said Natalia Virtuozova, Director General of the RUSSIA EXPO.
The festival started with a mass flash mob "Beautiful Far Away", which united hundreds of guests in a dance. The program of the first day of the festival includes a joint floral show of the All-Russian Public Organization "Community of Florists of Russia" and the designer of floral collections Alina Dmitrieva, as well as a masterclass on creating bouquets.
Russian breeders will speak about the peculiarities of roses and lilacs. In turn, groups from the Leningrad, Pskov, Kaliningrad regions and St. Petersburg will take part in the tournament of vocal-instrumental ensembles "Russia in Flowers". They will perform songs about flowers in modern arrangements.
Throughout the festival, various masterclasses, lectures, shows and performances will be held for guests — children and adults, said the head of the "Future in Flowers" project Alena Perevoznik.
"This incredible beauty is the result of large-scale work of the Exposition staff, representatives of regions, departments and companies. We are grateful to them for their assistance: they treated our initiative sensitively, kindly, and helped us in everything," Alena Perevoznik added.
The "Future in Flowers" festival will last until July 8. Especially for it, a circular exposition was built on the Industrial Square, where flowerbeds of the regions are presented. In addition, there is a workshop of the same name, where Russian breeders present their achievements — they will demonstrate 400 varieties of peonies, 140 varieties of lilacs, 120 varieties of irises and 250 varieties of roses from different parts of our country. Vertical flowerbeds prepared by state corporations and other thematic expositions appeared on the territory of VDNH. A total of 100 million flowers are used for the festival at the Exposition.
