The National Centre RUSSIA congratulates on International Museum Day
The National Centre RUSSIA congratulates everyone who carefully preserves historical legacy and participates in forming a new cultural environment, connecting the past and future, on International Museum Day.
One of the first expositions of the National Centre RUSSIA — the large-scale project "Legacy for the Future" — became a notable cultural event and an example of international cooperation. During three months of operation, the exposition attracted more than 110 thousand people. The exposition united young artists from six countries: Russia, China, India, Brazil, Ethiopia and Iran.
As part of the first event — the International Symposium "Inventing the Future" — a three-day Museum Congress was held. Russian and foreign specialists discussed the prospects of museology: what museums of the future might be like and how museum spaces participate in forming cultural communication and an environment for new generations.
The National Centre RUSSIA is hosting a series of educational lectures by art historian Yelizaveta Likhacheva, timed to coincide with "The Birth of Scale" exposition, dedicated to the achievements of national architecture. The lectures allow for a new look at architecture and its influence on everyday life: why some buildings become symbols of their time while others disappear, how scale affects the perception of urban space and how Russian architecture can develop. Lectures "Sports Russia", "Expositional Russia", "Academic Russia" and "Industrial Russia" have already taken place.
Currently, the National Centre RUSSIA features the exposition "Journey Across Russia", showcasing the achievements of all federal districts of the country, as well as the architectural exposition "The Birth of Scale."
Visits to expositions, lectures and other events of the National Centre RUSSIA are free. Participation in some of them requires pre-registration on the website russia.ru. Current information about events is posted in the "Events" section.
The series of educational lectures within the architectural exposition "The Birth of Scale" at the National Centre RUSSIA will continue on May 21.
On Monday, May 19, a technical maintenance day is being held at the National Centre RUSSIA.
On May 17, at the National Centre RUSSIA, a session called "Architectural Masks" was held, where children made cardboard mask models of characters from Roald Dahl's book "The Enormous Crocodile."
