The National Centre RUSSIA congratulates the Tula region on the 88th anniversary of its foundation
09.13.2025

This year marks the 879th anniversary of the city of Tula and the 88th anniversary of the Tula region. The region was established on 26 September 1937, when the Moscow region was divided.

The Tula region is located in the centre of the European part of Russia on the Central Russian Upland, within the steppe and forest-steppe zones. Today, the Tula region holds one of the leading positions among the regions of the Central Federal District in terms of industrial development. A significant part of its economy is formed by manufacturing, and one of its distinctive features is the high concentration of enterprises of the defence industry.

Key areas of economic activity include the production of chemicals and chemical products, non-metallic mineral products, fabricated metal products (excluding machinery and equipment), metallurgy, as well as the production of food and beverages.

"I congratulate everyone on the Days of the Hero City of Tula and the Tula region! Our region has a rich history full of military and labour feats, scientific discoveries and sporting achievements. We are proud of our deep cultural roots, strong traditions and outstanding fellow countrymen who have made our unique Tula land known to the whole world. In all that we do, we strive to be worthy of our ancestors, to become examples for future generations. We are moving forward with confidence, creating, strengthening the economy and developing the social sphere, shaping the modern image of a leading region," said Dmitry Melyaev, Governor of the Tula region, in a conversation with the press office of the National Centre RUSSIA.

Mutual support, solidarity, and the readiness to stand by each other have always been and remain part of the unyielding Tula character — the character of victors, creators and defenders, he added.

"This year at the exposition 'Region-2030. Platform of the Future' at the National Centre RUSSIA, the Tula region’s stand has been designed in the concept 'Past. Present. Future'. It reflects the continuity of generations, loyalty to traditions, the modern development of the region and the image of the future of the Tula region with its great potential and strong prospects. We love our land, live and work for the good of the Motherland!" summed up Dmitry Melyaev.

The National Centre RUSSIA congratulates the residents of the Tula region on the 88th anniversary of the region’s foundation and invites everyone to the "Journey Across Russia" exposition, where the region is represented as part of the Central Federal District. In addition, from 15 to 21 September, the National Centre RUSSIA will host the Days of the Tula Region, featuring workshops, concerts, meetings with regional leaders, educational lectures, and many other events.
