"We have much to be proud of": Vladimir Putin about the RUSSIA EXPO
The ceremony to mark 100 days before the start of the "Games of the Future" in Kazan was held at the VDNH. The importance of this event was emphasized by President Vladimir Putin and Director General of the ANO «Directorate of the Exhibition of Achievements "Russia"» Natalia Virtuozova.
"We are honored that the start of 100 days until the first International Phygital Tournament "Games of the Future" was launched on the platform of the International RUSSIA EXPO. The exposition brings together the unique achievements of our country and our people, and the Games project has no analogues in the world, it will be the first time ever", — Natalia Virtuozova said.
The Head of State opened the ceremony with a video message. According to him, it is symbolic that 100 days until the start of the Games of the Future are celebrated at the RUSSIA EXPO. He believes that the idea to combine classic sports and esports embodies the image of Russia that is open to innovations.
"We really have a lot to be proud of in industry, science, culture, sports and, of course, in digital technologies, where Russia is actively strengthening its positions. This is evidenced by the holding of the "Games of the Future", a fundamentally new sports tournament based on the beauty of traditional sports and the most advanced innovative breakthroughs", — said Vladimir Putin.
Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, noted that the President has correctly guessed the format. He pointed out that young people are "harmonious people of the future". The games, which will be held for the first time in the country on behalf of the President, are aimed at them.
"There have already been 10 test competitions, in which 40 countries took part, and we, of course, very much expect that our names will be heard at the first Games", — said Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The competition trophy went on a motor rally through several cities of the country. After that it will be sent from Baikonur to the ISS. It will return to Earth by the finals of the "Games of the Future".
It should be reminded that the International RUSSIA EXPO is held on the territory of the VDNH in Moscow. It brings together expositions of 89 regions of Russia, leading federal departments, corporations and public organizations. The exposition talks about the country’s achievements, holds lectures, workshops, guided tours and much more. It will last until April 12, 2024.
