Natalia Virtuozova: The Motherland begins with love
Natalya Virtuozova, Director General of the National Centre
RUSSIA, has shared her answer to the question of what does the Motherland begin
with. She expressed her views during the presentation of the all-Russian
project "What Does the Motherland Begin With?", which is being
implemented by the National Centre RUSSIA with the support of the Government of
the Russian Federation.
"For me, the Motherland begins first and foremost with love. Love for my
mother, my father, my family, and my native land. There are places I want to
return to again and again. Many people ask: 'Why there, of all places?' The
answer is very simple – because I love them and I am happy there. For me, these
are Altai, Crimea and Zaraysk. I love these places, I love the people who live
there. That is my Motherland," she said.
The project "What Does the Motherland Begin With?" is designed to
bring together people of different generations and regions around a
conversation about the core values that connect each of us to our native
country. Already, the majority of survey participants name family as the
foundation of the Motherland – this theme appears in 64.2% of responses. In
second place are traditional values, mentioned in 58% of respondents' answers.
The National Centre RUSSIA invites everyone to take part in the all-Russian
survey "What Does the Motherland Begin With?" You can share your
thoughts in any format – leave a written comment or record a video message on
the website russia.ru.
