The National Centre RUSSIA to present an extensive business programme as part of the Platform Economy Day
The rapidly growing potential of digital platforms in the
global economy will be the focus of discussion at the National Centre RUSSIA on
11 November. The event will bring together representatives of the Presidential
Executive Office of Russia, the Federation Council, and the State Duma, heads
and representatives of ministries, agencies and development institutions,
regional leaders, business experts and representatives of major business
associations, as well as international specialists.
Platform Economy Without Borders
The use of the potential of digital platforms and their
ecosystems plays an important role in ensuring sustainable economic growth,
improving business conditions, and enhancing quality of life. Participants will
discuss practical steps to scale up and make the benefits of platform-based
models accessible to all.
Platformisation of Public Procurement
Public procurement plays a crucial role in every country’s
economy, meeting state needs and fostering a competitive environment. Russia
has established a contract system that ensures high-quality and, in many cases,
automated management of the procurement process.
Digital platforms and their ecosystems are becoming an
integral part of citizens’ everyday lives and a key tool for the country’s
socio-economic development. Participants will explore which ecosystem solutions
already shape the digital society and how government, business, and technology
can join forces to create a unified digital space.
Trust Economy: Transparent Digital Turnover on Platforms
The platform economy has created an unprecedented scale of
digital trade. As the phase of extensive growth gives way to a new stage, trust
in the quality and origin of goods is becoming the key factor of further
development. Participants will discuss practical mechanisms for eliminating
counterfeit products and preventing tax evasion practices.

The new national model of trade in the age of the platform
economy aims to eliminate imbalances between traditional retail and e-commerce
by transitioning to platform technologies and ecosystem approaches.
Participants will discuss how companies can strengthen their competitiveness and
meet modern consumer expectations by balancing the convenience of online
shopping with the unique experience of visiting physical retail spaces.
International Expert Session of the Open Dialogue"Digital Platforms as Drivers of the New Economy"
Societies in Russia and other countries of the Global
Majority are increasingly reliant on digital technologies, making it crucial to
understand the role of digital platforms in promoting inclusive socio-economic
development. Participants in the expert session will discuss how platform-based
models improve interaction efficiency and transform economic structures, and
what unique opportunities digital platforms offer for consumers and
entrepreneurs.
Signing of the Memorandum of Fair Practices of Digital Platforms
The central event of the Platform Economy Day will be the signing of the Memorandum of Fair Practices of Digital Platforms by representatives of Russia’s largest digital platforms. The document formalises their voluntary commitment to the early implementation of certain provisions of the Federal Law "On Certain Aspects of Regulating the Platform Economy in the Russian Federation", as well as additional obligations.
The day will
also include a meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the
development of the digital economy and digital platform ecosystems established
by order of the President of the Russian Federation.
The "Peoples of Russia and the CIS" International Festival will open in Moscow on 31 October 2025.
