On the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, on 21 February at 15:00, a meeting of the Literary Club "What to Read?!" will be held at the National Centre RUSSIA, dedicated to the theme "Heroes of Our Time". The open discussion will bring together public figures, war correspondents, poets and writers whose texts were created in combat conditions and became an artistic reflection of contemporary acts of heroism.

"On 21 February at 15:00, a meeting of the literary club 'What to Read?!' will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA, where I and our guests will discuss the role of the hero in modern Russian literature. Who are heroes? Why are they considered heroes? Why does society recognise them as such? Come along — it will be interesting!" said the moderator of the meeting, Alexei Chesnakov.

The speakers at the meeting will include the poet and publicist Igor Karaulov, journalist, war correspondent and author of documentary films from the special military operation zone Alexander Lukyanov, as well as actor, director, producer, frontline documentary filmmaker, participant in the special military operation and author of the Telegram channel "Military Producer", Nikolai Tsonku.

Participants will discuss what it means to be a hero today, how the image of the defender has changed in Russian literature, and why war poetry remains part of historical memory. The experts will also address the role of the war correspondent in the 21st century and the ethical boundaries of frontline reporting.

Those wishing to join the discussion on courage can register on the website russia.ru. Registration is required in the "Events" section.
