Week of the Jewish Autonomous Region at the National Centre RUSSIA concluded with a concert
The thematic week of the Jewish Autonomous Region, held as part of the exposition "Region-2030. Platform of the Future", concluded with a vibrant concert programme within the project "Family Album — Living for Two", dedicated to preserving the memory of the heroes of the special military operation. The host and performer of the event was poet, composer, journalist and SPAS TV presenter Alexander Galitsky.
A member of frontline brigades and the "Culture for Donbass" project, as well as ambassador of the "Know Our Own!" initiative, Alexander Galitsky is deeply immersed in the topic of the special military operation. The concert featured his original songs "Motherland", "Good Will", "Believe and Dream", "Saving Love" and others. The artist also performed songs dedicated to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
"Europe is trying to deny the help of the Russian soldier, but the memory of generations cannot be erased. This memory is symbolised by the song about our fighter, whose monument has survived and still stands in Bulgaria," noted Alexander Galitsky before performing the final piece of the programme — the Soviet song "Alyosha", with lyrics by Konstantin Vanshenkin and music by Eduard Kolmanovsky.
The concert was accompanied by video footage from the family archives of the Heroes of Russia. Stories of life, love, dreams and families of the fallen participants of the special military operation came alive on the stage of the National Centre RUSSIA through the recollections of their relatives, friends and brothers-in-arms.
"I couldn’t hold back my tears — it was all so moving: the songs, the faces on the screen… It’s so moving to see today’s young people remember and sing the songs of wartime, sincerely and wholeheartedly honouring our heroes! My deep gratitude to the artist and the National Centre RUSSIA for helping preserve this bridge between generations," said elderly visitor Anna Timofeyeva with admiration.
The project "Family Album — Living for Two" is a harmonious combination of two initiatives aimed at preserving the memory of the heroes — "Family Album" and "Living for Two". The first is a nationwide project dedicated to commemorating the fallen participants of the special military operation. It has already collected over 500 family archives of the fallen soldiers and released more than 30 short films about heroes from Moscow, Vladivostok, Birobidzhan and Donetsk. In turn, the "Living for Two" project was founded in the Jewish Autonomous Region by the wife of a Hero of Russia, Polina Kovtun. She creates unique patches bearing the images of loved ones, uniting regions across the country in memory of the fallen fighters.
Region Days are held within the exposition "Region-2030. Platform of the Future" from September to October. Visitors have already become acquainted with the main attractions and achievements of the Voronezh, Amur and Tula regions, as well as the Republic of Dagestan. The week of the Jewish Autonomous Region was the fifth in the series. Next, thematic days will be dedicated to the Chelyabinsk region (7–12 October) and the Nenets Autonomous Area (14–19 October).
