New National Centre RUSSIA building to become a symbol of the country’s innovative development
The new National Centre RUSSIA building will become not only one of the country’s largest public facilities but also an important architectural symbol of its future. Pavel Akimov, Rector of Moscow State University of Civil Engineering and Professor, expressed this opinion in an interview with RBC TV.
"This is a truly unique facility designed to symbolise our country’s enormous potential and its commitment to innovation. It is not merely a building covering more than 205,000 square metres: its uniqueness also lies in the tremendous importance it will have both for the city’s infrastructure and for our country as a whole," Pavel Akimov noted.
President of Russia Vladimir Putin launched the construction of the new space on 26 March. It will become an architectural event of global significance and a symbol of modern Russia, reflecting the country’s creative potential, multinational culture and commitment to innovation. The modern public space will bring together exposition, cultural, educational and business venues. The project is being implemented jointly with the Moscow Urban Development Complex. The opening is scheduled for the end of 2029.
