"An image that will live in memory": African guests share their impressions of the National Centre RUSSIA
During the operation of the International Press Centre at the National Centre RUSSIA, established to cover the Eighth Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum and the Third Russia–Africa Summit, foreign journalists discovered not only the country itself, but also a major source of inspiration and pride created on the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin. They said that what they saw helped them better understand what defines modern Russia.
"At the exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA, I saw highly advanced engineering and was particularly impressed by the country's achievements in computing. It all made a strong impression on me. I also had the opportunity to learn more about your country's rich history and traditions. And, of course, it is wonderful that the exposition is not simply a collection of individual exhibits, but vividly demonstrates the unity of the history and culture of the different peoples who make up Russia," said Max Hamata, Editor-in-Chief and founder of Namibia's weekly newspaper The Confidente.
After visiting the "Journey Across Russia" exposition, Azoudoum Aweina Gédéon, Director General of Chadian television channel Tchad24 and radio station N'Djaména24, said he had been genuinely surprised by the number and diversity of historical, archaeological and cultural sites presented. In his view, the National Centre RUSSIA goes far beyond the scope of a conventional cultural and educational project.
"I received a very warm welcome at the National Centre, and I am impressed by the wealth on display here, as well as by the ingenuity of Russia's peoples, who have managed to preserve their historical and cultural legacy. I will return home feeling deeply inspired. And from now on, whenever I think or talk about architecture, science, culture and advanced engineering, the first image that comes to mind will be that of the National Centre RUSSIA," Azoudoum Aweina Gédéon said.
From 26 to 30 October, the International Press Centre at the National Centre RUSSIA welcomed representatives of around 200 media organisations. Journalists had access to workspaces and communications facilities. An International Broadcasting Centre was set up, indoor stand-up positions were provided, and a hall was equipped for briefings and press conferences.
The remote stage has concluded. Applications were received from 70 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, representing all eight federal districts, including the historical territories.
The conversation about what the unity of Russia's peoples means continues. Cultural figures, scientists, athletes and representatives of other professions share their personal reflections.
"Yugra: Energy of the Future — From Natural Resources to Meaning" was the theme of Yugra's first "Inventing the Future" Open Lecture Hall, held at the National Centre RUSSIA.
