"Education gives every person a ticket to life" — Dmitry Milyaev
On 17 September, at the National Centre RUSSIA during the exposition "Region-2030. Platform of the Future", the Governor of the Tula Region, Dmitry Milyaev, took part in the opening of Tula Region Days. In an open dialogue format, the Governor spoke about the region’s key achievements and development plans up to 2030, with a perspective through 2036.
Dmitry Milyaev named the development of the education system as one of the priorities for the Tula region.
"Education gives every person a ticket to life. We pay serious attention to everything connected with it," the head of the region stressed.
According to the Governor, significant work has been carried out in the region to develop infrastructure. Over the past years, 33 facilities have been renovated — 25 schools and 8 kindergartens. In 2022 and 2024, major repairs were completed in 25 schools, and this year work will be carried out at another 25 facilities, including secondary vocational institutions and kindergartens.
The Governor noted that the region has achieved positive results through the "Professionalitet (Profession Degree)" project.
"Over the past years, eight projects were implemented with the support of our enterprises, which act as financial partners. Next year we will double the number of such projects," the head of the region emphasised.
Dmitry Milyaev added that enterprises act as mentors and customers, making education practice-oriented.
According to the Governor, higher education in the region is also developing, with a steady increase in the number of applicants to universities. Thanks to the support of the Rostec Group of Companies, an advanced engineering school was opened at Tula State University, which is now operating successfully. Dmitry Milyaev also noted the achievements of the Tulatech science and education centre.
"Students are working on projects aimed at solving real tasks set by enterprises. And this is very important. On the one hand, the main goal is to create space for scientific research, and on the other — to ensure the possibility of applying the results of this research," the Governor explained.
Dmitry Milyaev stressed that indicators for staffing educational institutions in the region have improved.
"We have decided to compensate teachers for part of their rental costs. We design support measures based on the actual needs of teachers. We try to encourage people to join the profession," the Governor said.
