Opera and beatboxing await guests at the Maslenitsa celebration at the National Centre RUSSIA
02.24.2025

The multi-genre musical program "Maslenitsa. Time of Traditions" will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA on March 2, starting at 19:00.

Artists from various genres will perform on the concert hall stage of the National Centre RUSSIA. Using not only traditional but also unexpected instruments, they will reveal new dimensions of this beloved holiday. Opera soloists will sing alongside a folk ensemble, beatboxing will be combined with classical music, and a DJ will present a mix of folk and electronic music.

The event will consist of three thematic sections, each telling a unique story:

— Section 1. Maslenitsa: Tradition Moving into the Future. (How do modern interpretations preserve ancient customs?)

— Section 2. The History of the Russian Romance. Revival. (From classical pieces to contemporary adaptations.)

— Section 3. Welcoming Spring! A Shared Cultural Code Across Generations. (How does music unite different generations?)

The special guests of the program "Maslenitsa. Time of Traditions" will include: Bolshoi Theatre soloists Guzel Sharipova and Ksenia Dezhneva, Mariinsky Theatre artists Andrei Serov and Alexander Trofimov, as well as soloist Natalia Pavlova, world beatboxing champion Vakhtang, folk DJ Arif, the vocal ensemble Ariel, the folk dance ensemble Paraskeva, and the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra. The conductor of the event will be Arif Dadashev (conductor of the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre, guest conductor of the Mariinsky Theatre).

Advance registration is required.
