Opera and beatboxing await guests at the Maslenitsa celebration at the National Centre RUSSIA
The multi-genre musical program "Maslenitsa. Time of Traditions" will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA on March 2, starting at 19:00.
Artists
from various genres will perform on the concert hall stage of the National
Centre RUSSIA. Using not only traditional but also unexpected instruments, they
will reveal new dimensions of this beloved holiday. Opera soloists will sing
alongside a folk ensemble, beatboxing will be combined with classical music,
and a DJ will present a mix of folk and electronic music.
The event
will consist of three thematic sections, each telling a unique story:
— Section
1. Maslenitsa: Tradition Moving into the Future. (How do modern interpretations
preserve ancient customs?)
— Section
2. The History of the Russian Romance. Revival. (From classical pieces to
contemporary adaptations.)
— Section
3. Welcoming Spring! A Shared Cultural Code Across Generations. (How does music
unite different generations?)
The special
guests of the program "Maslenitsa. Time of Traditions" will include:
Bolshoi Theatre soloists Guzel Sharipova and Ksenia Dezhneva, Mariinsky Theatre
artists Andrei Serov and Alexander Trofimov, as well as soloist Natalia
Pavlova, world beatboxing champion Vakhtang, folk DJ Arif, the vocal ensemble
Ariel, the folk dance ensemble Paraskeva, and the Moscow State Symphony
Orchestra. The conductor of the event will be Arif Dadashev (conductor of the
Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre, guest conductor of the
Mariinsky Theatre).

The children's workshop "Houses and Little Homes in the City" was held on 19 April at the National Centre RUSSIA.
The large-scale international project Open Dialogue "The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth" will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA from 28 to 30 April 2025.
