From tango to qigong: the regional athletes presented the show "From Voronezh with Love" at the National Centre RUSSIA
A demonstration sports show programme "From Voronezh with Love" was held at the National Centre RUSSIA on 13 September as part of the Voronezh region’s themed week at the exposition "Region-2030. Platform of the Future". It brought together representatives of regional sports federations and sports schools.
The guests from Voronezh proved that sport is not only useful but also beautiful. The programme featured students of the Yevgeny Antsupov School of Acrobatics, bronze medallists of the Russian championships, winners of national and international competitions Alexander Lovchikov and Pyotr Starodubtsev, as well as pupils of the aesthetic gymnastics club Prima — Daria Buganova, Milana Vlasova, Vasilina Kasyanova and Polina Romashko. Students of the Yuri Shtukman Olympic Reserve School of Artistic Gymnastics, winners of the Voronezh region championship in sports dance Georgy Tsvilyk and Vladislava Gorbunova, performed three dance routines at the National Centre RUSSIA — a rhythmic tango, a sensual rumba and an energetic jive.
The event concluded with a burst of energy and cheer from Tatyana Yurieva, European champion, silver medallist of the World Championships, Russian champion in taijiquan among veterans, and coach-teacher of Voronezh Sports School of Wushu No. 20. She held a workshop on qigong for the guests, explaining that this well-known practice, which combines physical exercises, breathing techniques and meditation, aims to harmonise energy in the body and improve physical and mental well-being. According to the expert, anyone can perform the basic qigong exercises.
"Everything in our world is permeated with energy. And even scientists have already proved that inside each of us there is that very special magical bioenergy, the energy that helps us to heal and shape the world around us. It is no coincidence that the Chinese say that a person is the link between heaven and earth. That is why we will now stand up and do simple gymnastics that anyone can perform: from a five-year-old child to people aged 90 and older — and we also have such adepts of qigong," assured Tatyana Yurieva.
The Days of the Voronezh Region at the exposition "Region-2030. Platform of the Future" at the National Centre RUSSIA are held from 9 to 14 September. The programme of the region’s themed week includes lectures and workshops, presentations, performances by artists and groups, distribution of souvenirs and much more.
