Five Far Eastern couples tied the knot at the RUSSIA EXPO
May 13 is
the second day of the All-Russian Wedding Festival. It started with a
procession of newlywed couples from the Main Arch of VDNH to the Main Street
Stage of the Exposition. A solemn marriage ceremony took place there.
Five
couples from regions of the Far Eastern Federal District - one from the
Sakhalin region and one each from the Zabaykalsky and Primorye regions, as well
as two couples from the Khabarovsk region - got married at the Exposition.
After the
official conclusion of the marriage, the newlyweds were handed over the flame
of the All-Russian Family Hearth "Heart of Russia", which was lit at
the Exposition during the solemn ceremony of the start of the Year of the
Family with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Dear
couples! Today is a special day for you, and you are representing your federal
district at the wedding ceremony at the RUSSIA EXPO. I wish you family
happiness, warmth and comfort. May the Fire of the Family Hearth always keep
you warm. We invite you to get acquainted with our capital and return home with
truly vivid impressions and good memories," emphasized Yulia Stoyanova,
the project manager of the RUSSIA EXPO.
Ekaterina
and Igor from Chita (Zabaykalsky region) told why they decided to get married
at the Exposition.
"We
have been thinking about the wedding for a year and a half, we decided not to
miss such a chance and to officially seal our relationship here. The fact that
we are getting married at the Exposition is an exciting moment, which we
perceive as a unique opportunity in our lives. We really enjoyed today's event,
it's just space! The organization here is at the highest level - it would be
impossible to do something like this at home. We are really grateful to the
President for the idea of the Exposition and for the Year of the Family,"
Ekaterina shared her impressions.
Alina and
Vladimir from Ussuriysk (Primorye region), who married at the Exposition, have
known each other since childhood.
"Ussuriysk
is a fairly small town. We have known each other since childhood, and we met in
church. We started the relationship two and a half years ago. We are Koreans by
nationality, and we do not forget our culture. Primorye Koreans honor their
traditions greatly, and we are among them. Today we are wearing a traditional
Korean costume called hanbok. We decided to get married in such costumes
because we wanted to represent the Korean diaspora of our region,"
Vladimir said.
Two couples
represented the Khabarovsk region at the wedding ceremony. Daria and Grigory
from the Nanai district arrived at the ceremony in traditional Nanai costumes.
"We
are excited that we managed to get to such an event. We are now wearing our
national holiday Nanai costumes. I have an ornament and birds on my back - this
is a protection for the bride from evil spirits, as well as for her husband and
children. And on the men's costume there are patterns from the plant world. My
mother made these costumes for us," Daria said.
Zhinbe and
Vera came to marry from the village of Udsky, which is located on the shore of
the Sea of Okhotsk.
"The
impressions are amazing. We are very happy and delighted that we registered our
marriage on this very day and exactly at the RUSSIA EXPO," Zhinbe
emphasized.
Andrei and
Arina arrived at the festival from Sakhalin.
"We
are very happy with the fact that we got married right at the RUSSIA EXPO
within the framework of the All-Russian Wedding Festival. We congratulate other
newlyweds who got married as well," Andrei said.
After the
wedding ceremony, creative groups from the regions of the Far Eastern Federal
District - "Kore Dance" from Primorye region, the State Musical
Theater of National Cultures "Transbaikalian Patterns" from Zabaykalye, the exemplary national dance
ensemble "Diro" (Khabarovsk region) and "Olonkho Theater"
from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) - also performed on stage.
The
All-Russian Wedding Festival is being held in Russia for the first time. Until
May 19, couples from all federal districts of the country will get married at
the Exposition, and thematic days dedicated to the stages of the wedding rite
and various customs will be held. Each of them will be linked to the traditions
of Russia's regions and peoples.
The first event to be held at the Russia National Centre, which is being established by the order of President Vladimir Putin, will be the International Science Fiction Symposium and Exhibition "Inventing the Future". The symposium will take place from November 4 to 6.
Tomorrow, the International RUSSIA EXPO will conclude its work. From November 2023 to July 2024, it was visited by more than 18 million guests.
Every day, for eight months, the RUSSIA EXPO delighted guests and gave unforgettable emotions.
