The fifth season of "Flagships of Education" launched at the National Centre RUSSIA
The fifth and anniversary season of the all-Russian project "Flagships of Education" of the presidential platform "Russia – Land of Opportunity," was launched on April 12 at the National Centre RUSSIA during the presentation of the national project "Youth and Children," initiated by the President of Russia.
The project is open to educators, students, and education managers who seek to advance the development of education in Russia. This season offers expanded participation formats and new digital services. Registration is already open on the website.
The "Flagships of Education" project is carried out as part of the federal project "Russia – Land of Opportunity" within the national project "Youth and Children" with the support of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh).
"The 'Flagships of Education' project is a true example of how a talent support system works in practice. In just the past year, 11 regional and municipal teams have completed the professional development program, 400 students received internship opportunities, and 78% of participants in the 'Pedagogical Trial' expressed a desire to work in educational institutions. This shows that the project not only identifies leaders but also helps them find their place in the profession," said Denis Ashirov, State Secretary – Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh).
More than 26,000 people have received individual recommendations for professional development, 45 competition winners have taken up management positions, and 136 participants have been included in regional talent pools.
"Nearly 300,000 educators, managers, and students have taken part in the 'Flagships of Education' contest over the past six years. This is a community of people who not only teach but also transform education, create new approaches, and open up opportunities for thousands of students. This year, we are launching new competition tracks: 'Media,' 'State,' 'Culture,' and 'Mentorship.' They will help participants not only develop their competencies but also find intersections between education, modern technologies, and culture. 'Flagships of Education' is not just a competition, it is an ecosystem of opportunities where everyone can find their role in shaping the future," said Gennady Guryanov, First Deputy Director General of the presidential platform "Russia – Land of Opportunity."
In 2025, the "Flagships of Education" project is expanding its participation areas. Four new tracks have been launched:
"Media" — for those working with educational content and technologies.
"State" — for participants involved in the development of educational policy.
"Culture" — for those who inspire learning through art, traditions, and Russian values.
"Mentorship" — for experienced professionals and those seeking support at the beginning of their journey.
"Thanks to the project, 122 participants have already been included in the talent pool of the Ministry of Education. This means that Russia’s education system is gaining motivated, energetic, and well-prepared professionals who are ready to take on responsibility and introduce new approaches. We believe that the new season of the 'Flagships of Education' project of the presidential platform 'Russia – Land of Opportunity' will help us discover even more talented educators, managers, and students who will become a driving force for the development of education in our country," said Irina Kokoyeva, Director of the Personnel Policy Department at the Ministry of Education of Russia.
In the fifth season, the "Constellation of Education Flagships" community will continue to grow. A new competitive selection has opened for those ready to join the ranks of leading experts in the field of education. Project experts participate in key events — from international forums to specialized sessions and educational intensives, represent the project on external platforms, and serve as mentors for participants of the "Russia – Land of Opportunity" platform.
"The Mashuk Knowledge Centre, by order of the President of Russia, has become the All-Russian Methodological Centre for the Development of the Mentorship Institute. Last year, we conducted 90 thematic programs in this direction, which reached more than 8,000 participants from different regions of the country. Educators and mentors from various fields can exchange experiences with us, receive a foundation of best practices for their work, and become true guides of meaning. Similar goals are set by the 'Flagships of Education' project. Today, it is no longer just a competition but an environment in which young educators find guidance, learn from experienced mentors. I am confident that all participants in the project will receive not only support but also specific tools for professional growth," emphasized Anton Serikov, Deputy Director General of the Russian society Znanie and Director of the Mashuk Knowledge Centre.
The expansion of project directions in 2025 reflects the desire of the 'Flagships of Education' to respond to the demands of the times — to help educators become not only professionals in their field but also carriers of values capable of shaping a conscious civic position in the younger generation.
"In the face of the challenges and threats that our country is currently facing, an important task is to form in citizens an objective understanding of Russian civilization, its historical path, socio-cultural specifics, and political structure. It is extremely important that this task is systematically addressed today in the sphere of education, upbringing, and youth work. As part of the 'Flagships of Education' project, this year a 'State' track is being implemented, aimed at developing managerial competencies, increasing participants' political literacy, and involving them in socio-political processes. Participants will gain the necessary knowledge, learn how to apply it in educational practices and civic enlightenment activities, and see opportunities for their own development in the socio-political space," said Antonina Selezneva, Director of the Department of Educational Activities in Social and Humanitarian Sciences at the ANO "Expert Institute of Social Research."
In 2025, "Flagships of Education" will not only expand participation directions but also launch new services for professional development. The "Competency Assessment" service will help participants understand their strengths. The "Content Library" will be a collection of lectures, methodological materials, and case studies from experts. And the "Opportunities Catalog" will gather relevant offers from partners: grants, internships, competitions, and training programs.
As part of the opening of the fifth season of the "Flagships of Education" project, a new format was introduced — "Flagship Workshops." These workshops offer participants the opportunity to discuss crucial topics with experts. Each workshop focuses on a specific direction, such as the interaction between school and family, education, management, project activities, and work with media and digital technologies. Communication takes place in specialized chats, moderated by experts from the "Constellation of Education Flagships." In these chats, participants exchange experiences, receive practical advice, and learn new educational approaches. The workshop mentors are educators who actively work with digital formats and educational media.
The "Flagships of Education" project continues to support those who are building careers in the field of education, offering teachers, managers, and students additional skills and opportunities for professional growth. Winners take leadership positions, join the personnel reserves, and receive personalized recommendations for further development.
Around a thousand alumni from previous Rosmolodezh forums, active youth from the regions, winners of the Rosmolodezh grant competition, and representatives of the Movement of the First participated in the presentation. The goal of the event was to present the main ideas of the national project "Youth and Children," discuss innovations in the upcoming forums, and showcase the national values that form the foundation of Russia's cultural code.
The event is organized by Rosmolodezh in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Russia, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, the Roscosmos State Corporation , the Russian society Znanie, the ANO "National Priorities of Russia," the presidential platform "Russia – Land of Opportunity," the Movement of the First, the National Centre RUSSIA, and Dobro.rf.
Partners of the outreach program include: Gazprom-Media Holding, the Food Bank Rus charitable foundation, the Krutitskoye Patriarchal Compound of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Mosvolunteer Resource Centre, and the interactive museum "In Silence."
