Winners of the "Dreams of the Future" contest from all federal districts to be honoured at the National Centre RUSSIA
The award
ceremony for the winners of the All-Russian video essay contest "Dreams of
the Future" will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA on June 1,
International Children's Day. The event will be held in a space symbolically
dedicated to shaping the future of our country, where the ideas of the younger
generation receive real support. The "Dreams of the Future" contest
aims to inspire young people to reflect on what lies ahead and to introduce
young authors to the works of science fiction writers.
The
creative contest "Dreams of the Future" brought together 4,000
participants from all corners of Russia. Participants in two age categories –
14–16 and 17–18 years old – presented their vision of the future with a
mandatory reference to a science fiction work from a recommended list. The list
was specially compiled for the contest by the Russian State Library for Young
Adults and the Council on Science Fiction and Adventure Literature of the Union
of Writers of Russia, with the participation of the Eksmo-AST publishing group.
An expert
jury selected 20 finalist teams from all federal districts of the country.
According to experts, the essayists demonstrated a unique creative approach and
depth of thought. The best works by participants will be awarded valuable
prizes.
The most
frequently cited works of the young authors included "Amphibian Man,"
"Ariel" and "The Head of Professor Dowell" by Alexander
Belyaev, "Andromeda Nebula" by Ivan Yefremov, "Roadside
Picnic" by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky, and "The Settlement" by
Kir Bulychev. This choice demonstrates that the new generation envisions the
future while building on the finest traditions of Russian scientific thought.
The list of
the most frequently referenced books also featured the contemporary science
fiction masters: Sergei Lukyanenko, Alexander and Sergei Abramov, Vasily
Golovachev, and other authors. This trend has demonstrated the continuity of
generations in shaping Russia's future.
The
All-Russian video essay contest is held as part of the Decade of Science and
Technology with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of
the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation,
