"I would like to thank our partners, including the National Centre RUSSIA, for the opportunity to be part of this forum. Enjoy the works of young domestic designers," said Alexander Shaynikov.
The Russian Design Industry Forum opened at the National Centre RUSSIA on 15 April and will run for two days. The programme includes dozens of sessions featuring designers, analysts, and entrepreneurs from the creative industries and fashion sectors. The business programme was opened by the plenary session "Development Priorities of the Design Industry in Russia. National Products and Projects," during which experts discussed the impact of design on the strategic development of the country, the formation of a sustainable and competitive industry, and a high standard of living. The programme will cover more than 25 sessions within the following tracks: state policy and industry economics, design directions, technologies, education, and the historical legacy of design. The topics are intended to provide answers to many pressing questions in the field, including: the role of higher education in design today, the demands of the modern consumer, what local manufacturers have to offer, and how attention to the operational efficiency of a designer's work influences business success.
The organiser of the forum is the Roscongress Foundation, with the support of the Moscow Government, the Special Commission of the Bureau of the Supreme Council of the United Russia party on Advanced Socio-Economic and Scientific-Technological Development, as well as the Union of Designers of Russia. The forum is also supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. The National Centre RUSSIA serves as the venue for the event.
