Monday is a maintenance day at the National Centre RUSSIA
Keeping visitors comfortable and safe takes regular work
behind the scenes, so the National Centre RUSSIA holds a maintenance day every
Monday. The centre will be closed to visitors on 9 November while specialists
check equipment and monitoring systems, update the expositions and exhibits,
and prepare the halls to welcome new visitors.
The National Centre RUSSIA will resume its usual opening hours on Tuesday, 10
November, from 10:00 to 20:00, Tuesday to Sunday. Visitors can explore all of
the country's federal districts on a 90-minute guided tour of the main
exposition, "Journey Across Russia", and discover distinctive
regional cuisine at the Gastronomic Rows. On the "Alley of Glory",
visitors can learn about the achievements of Russia's outstanding athletes,
while the exposition "The Great and Mighty Russian Language" casts
their familiar native language in a new light.
A packed programme of cultural, educational and business events gives visitors another
reason to return to the National Centre RUSSIA, which regularly hosts lectures,
concerts, workshops, festivals and other events. On Tuesday, 10 November, the centre's own
Lecture Hall programme will feature a session titled "Who Can Deactivate Your Card? How Russia Built Payment Sovereignty". Experts will explain how
the national payment infrastructure took shape and why it became the foundation
of the country's financial independence.
A major event in the coming week is the III International Symposium
"Inventing the Future", which will be held at the centre on 12–13
November. Organised on the instructions of the President of the Russian
Federation, Vladimir Putin, the event will bring together government officials,
scientists and researchers, representatives of business, the creative
industries and civic organisations, and young professionals from different
countries to work together on positive scenarios for the future. Participants
can register on the official website.
Admission to all expositions and events is free, although some require advance
registration at russia.ru. The latest schedule is available in the
"Events" section.
The Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu, was a guest of honour at the themed Youth Day of International Week "Peoples of Russia".
Science fiction fans will be able to watch an episode of the series "Hard to Be a God" alongside film industry experts and a practising psychologist on 12 November at the National Centre RUSSIA.
