Congratulations on the the Day of Reunification of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions with Russia
The Day of Reunification of the DNR, LNR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions with the Russian Federation is celebrated on 30 September. This holiday is a symbol of historical justice and unity of the Russian people.
"I cordially congratulate you with the Day of Reunification of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions with our large and united country. Three years ago, at the referendums in Donbass and Novorossiya, millions of our compatriots independently and freely determined their future, making a dream, which they had lived with for many years, come true. They have made the most important and fateful decision — to be with their Fatherland, with Russia, to return to their native family, of which they had always been a part. Together we did what we had to do, and we are proud of it — we supported our brothers and sisters in their firm, responsible choice," Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
Referendums on the entry of four regions into the Russian Federation were held in 2022. The overwhelming majority of the residents voted for their regions to join the Russian Federation. In the DPR, 99.23% of those who voted wanted their Republic to be with Russia, in the LPR the number of people voted for joining the Russian Federation was 98.42%, in the Kherson region — 87.05%, in the Zaporozhye region — 93.11%.
"Reunification with Russia is our conscious choice, which was the only right one. This has been confirmed daily. In three years, together with Russia, the Lugansk People's Republic has changed for the better beyond recognition. We saw how popular the Lugansk region's stand was at the International RUSSIA EXPO. Russians want to study and share our culture and learn more about the difficult path which the residents of Donbass have gone. Thank you for keeping these pages of history together with us, and for writing new ones," Leonid Pasechnik, Head of the Lugansk People's Republic, said in a conversation with the press service of the National Centre RUSSIA.
30 September is a date that is awaited and celebrated with special feeling in the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, Governor of the Kherson region, said. He also admitted: "This is the day when we said to ourselves: that's it, we are home now, and we will live together with Russia. Today, seeing how our region was represented at the International RUSSIA EXPO, I understand that we really have our place in the common history of the country and its modern life, and we can be proud of it."
As part of the International RUSSIA EXPO, the Donetsk People's Republic presented an atmospheric exposition stylized as a coalmine. The central element was the "time tunnel", symbolizing the transition from the past to the future. One side of the tunnel was a wall imitating a coal mine with illuminated blocks of anthracite, and the other represented a chronicle of events: from the founding of metallurgical plants in Donbass to the present day. It is symbolic that the bend of the tunnel occurred at a key milestone in 2022, when the republic became part of Russia.
The exposition of the Lugansk People's Republic focused on the monument "To the Worker of Lugansk region". The region's powerful industrial potential was highlighted with the help of large gears integrated into the design of the exposition stand. The decoration featured the moments of the republic's life and its enterprises' key achievements in such areas as coal mining, steelmaking and bread production.
The stand of the Zaporozhye region reflected both the ancient history of the region and its modern successes. The display featured a stylized idol, referring to the historical and archaeological reserve famous as "Kamennaya Mogila" ("Stone Grave" in English). Its natural grottos and caves have been transformed by humans over the millennia, resulting in dolmens, stone women and rock carvings. Information about the coast of the Sea of Azov, the Tavrida-2 motorway prospects, the development of nuclear energy, industry and agriculture was also presented at the stand.
The Kherson region showcased in detail its industrial and agricultural potential, its natural resources, among which the Askania Nova Biosphere Reserve stands out.
Today, the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, are part of the Southern Federal District, which is represented at the exposition "Journey Across Russia" at the National Centre RUSSIA.
