Vladivostok basketball team "Dynamo" presented its new season's roster at the National Centre RUSSIA in Primorye
On 29 September, a meeting of the "Dynamo" basketball team (Vladivostok) with its fans took place at the branch of the National Centre RUSSIA in Primorye as part of the new lineup presentation for the season 2025/26. Before that, a press conference was held, where head coach Eduard Sandler and the players answered questions from journalists. After that, the basketball players conducted a tour for the fans.
The head coach noted that the new season will be a serious challenge for the club: "We finished fifth last year, but the team is built to win and fight for the Championship Cup. This is probably the most coached and managed team in my 10 years of work."
Two experienced players returned to the reinforced team — centre Andrei Desyatnikov and defender Daniil Aksyonov. New names have also appeared, among them American basketball players DaQuan Smith and Isaiah Crowley. The team is waiting for the recovery of defender Ivan Strebkov, for whom the coach has high hopes. Serious reinforcement is expected at the point guard position. According to the coach, the team is well-balanced.
The American players noted that they feel good in Vladivostok. They were well received, and the city and the locals made the most favorable impression.
The players also shared their expectations for the new season. Centre Andrei Desyatnikov admitted that he was glad to return to his hometown: "I really missed the atmosphere. Fans from Vladivostok are among the best fans in the country."
Defender Daniil Aksyonov, who returned to Dynamo this year after his contract with Zenit-2 ended, shared that he feels confident before meeting his former team. The game will take place on 1 October.
Eduard Sandler reminded the audience that the club keeps developing its own sports academy for young athletes, and noted that last season was a kind of School of Hard Knocks for the team.
According to the coach, the support provided by the Primorye regional Government, sponsors and partners, remains an important positive factor in the team's life. Thanks to this, it is possible to acquire strong players and maintain a competitive team.
"It's not easy to motivate American players to join the second league in Russia today, but we managed to acquire high-class guys. This is the result of experience and well-established contacts," Eduard Sandler said.
After the press conference, the coach handed personalized jerseys to the team members, and introduced each of them. The basketball players shared some information about themselves with the audience, and answered questions from the fans. Then the team together with the fans went up to the second floor of the National Centre RUSSIA branch, where the expositions of the achievements of Primorye in industry, science, culture and education are showcased. For a short time, the athletes tried on a new role, conducting a tour for the fans.
Dynamo will play the first game of the Super League season 2025/26 on the hardwood floor of the sports complex "Olympietz" on 1 October. The Dynamo team will oppose the reserve team "Zenit" from St. Petersburg.
