Beautiful Far Away and Festival of Festivals - a new season at the RUSSIA EXPO
A new
program dedicated to the future of our country will be launched at the RUSSIA
EXPO. Guests will be able to become not just spectators, but also participants
in the events: mass processions, colorful flash mobs and various tournaments.
Russia annually hosts many interesting festivals that gather audience from all
over the country. Now they will become a part of the big Festival of Festivals
at the RUSSIA EXPO.
On April 28
in Pavilion No. 75 at 16.00-17.00, the guests of the Exposition will get
acquainted with a part of Platonov's program: an audioplay-promenade based on
Andrei Platonov's letters to his wife, the performances "Cow" by the
Gulliver Kurgan Puppet Theater, "Father's Voice" by the Nikitsky Gate
Theater and "Life" by the Brest Puppet Theater.
Platonov
Arts Festival has been held annually since 2011 in Voronezh, the birthplace of
writer Andrei Platonov. It is one of the best multicultural forums in Russia.
It has become a point of attraction for artists from more than 55 countries.
The festival events are annually attended by about 100,000 spectators from
different cities. In 2024, the festival will celebrate a particularly important
date - the 125th anniversary of Andrei Platonov's birth.
Opening of
the "Sports Russia" venue
On April
29, the sports area of the RUSSIA EXPO - "Sports RUSSIA" - will start
its work. It is located behind Pavilion No. 61.
Every day
at 11:00 we invite you to start your day with an exercise - next Monday it will
be conducted by Yesenia Stolyarova, champion of Russia, the world and Europe in
kettlebell lifting, winner of the European Cup.
The
professional football freestyle team will surprise with a technical show, and
also hold a masterclass with those who want to try themselves in beautiful
interaction with the ball.
Everyone
will be able to play table tennis, foosball, basketball and take part in other
activities.
On April
29, the Exposition will host a presentation of the Diaghilev Festival. It has
been held in Perm since 2003 and annually gathers thousands of classical music,
opera and ballet lovers from all over the country. The artistic director is one
of the most famous conductors of our days - Teodor Currentzis. During the
presentation we will hear a performance of the Euphoria Orchestra. This is a
group of young musicians who perform both classical and contemporary academic
music. They are distinguished by a special vision and their own reading of
already familiar works.
On April 30
you will get acquainted with the legendary Grushinsky Festival, which has been
held in the Samara region for more than 50 years. Yuri Karpov, Alexei
Apolinarov, Alexander Isaev and Sergei Voitenko will perform at the Exposition.
And the legendary announcers Anna Shatilova and Evgeny Kochergin will be the
hosts of the presentation.
Procession
"Labor is Cool"
On May 1,
the Day of Spring and Labor, together with Rosmolodezh and the Russian Student
Squads we will hold a procession "Labor is Cool!". Its participants
will be about 5 thousand people. The procession will end with a bright flash
mob and a concert on the Main Street Stage. We welcome everyone to join us and
celebrate the Day of Spring together!
Victor Astafiev's 100th anniversary
May 1 also
marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of our great writer, master of rural
and military prose - Victor Petrovich Astafiev. On this day, the Cultural
Projects Zone in Pavilion No. 75 will be transformed into a literary and
musical living room decorated in rustic style. Our guests will be told about
the life and works of Victor Astafiev, shown documentaries about the writer and
offered to take part in masterclasses on folk crafts of the Krasnoyarsk region
- Astafiev's homeland. And in the evening, there will be readings of excerpts
from the famous story "Tsar-fish" performed by honored artists of
Russia Boris Galkin, Galina Ulyotova and Valery Ivanov-Tagansky.
The concert"Peace. Labor. May. Reloading"
On May 1 at
18:00 on the Main Street Stage popular artists will perform May Day hits about
spring and labor in a modern arrangement. In between song numbers, dance
troupes dressed in costumes of working professions will perform routines to
retro compositions in a modern style.
"Istok"
wedding project
As you
know, the RUSSIA EXPO is about family and love. More than 60 couples from
different regions of the country have already joined their hearts here. We
decided to continue this good tradition and invite everyone to the House of
Culture Pavilion, where the "Istok" wedding project is working. There
every day you can take part in an immersive performance and see various wedding
rituals.
Dance
tournament "Points of Attraction"
On May 3,
the Main Street Stage will host a bright dance festival organized by the
"Point of Attraction" project of Rosmolodezh. 29 best children's and
youth dance groups will perform on one stage. In total, about 300 applications
for participation were received, and the worthiest were selected. According to
the results of performances the jury will choose and award the best of the
best.
Massexercise with Fedor Chudinov
On May 4,
Saturday, at 11:00 we will repeat the mass exercise on the Main Street Stage of
the Exposition. It will be conducted by the famous Russian boxer, world
champion Fedor Chudinov. The "Exercise Marathon" at the Exposition,
which we are holding together with the Healthy Fatherland movement and the
Ministry of Sport, is intended to revive the tradition of exercising in the
morning in Russia. By the way, we have already set a Russian record for the
largest number of participants in mass exercises - 5,773 people exercised in
front of the Main Street Stage and near the Friendship of Peoples fountain.
On May 4 at
17:00 the Exposition will also host the almost traditional flash mob
"Beautiful Far Away". Professional dancers will help us to coordinate
synchronized movements to the beat of music. It is interesting to watch it, but
it is even more interesting to be a part of such a large-scale action.
Bright
Easter holiday
On May 5,
we will celebrate the Easter holiday with the whole country. The Patriarchal
Choir of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior will perform in the Large
Conference Hall of Pavilion No. 75.
A team of
cooks from the House of Russian Cuisine will hold a festive culinary
performance with masterclasses on making kulichi, festive multi-layered pies,
loaves and 12 types of cottage cheese Easter cakes with flavors from different
regions: from Kamchatka to the Arctic. The guests will enjoy the traditional
Easter game "Bitki" (egg beating tournament), festive photo zone and
flash mob "Singing Chefs".
On May 5,
the finals of the contest "Songs of our Regiment" will be held on the
Main Street Stage. It will be possible not only to sing everyone's favorite
songs together with musicians, but also to hear new works dedicated to the
Great Victory.
The event
is organized by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and
the Arctic, with support from Norilsk Nickel PJSC and the Rosatom State
Corporation.
