Presentation of the study "Architecture of Tomorrow: The Role of National and Global components" to take place at the National Centre RUSSIA on April 8
On April 8 at 11:30, the National Centre RUSSIA will host the presentation of the results of an initiative study dedicated to the future of architecture. The study was conducted by the National Centre RUSSIA in collaboration with specialists from the Centre for Social Research and Technological Innovations (SITI) at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE).
During the event, Yevgeny Mikhaylenko, Dean of the Faculty of Urban and Regional Development at HSE, and Kirill Puzanov, Associate Professor at the Higher School of Urban Studies, will present the key findings of the research, which addresses the relationship between national features and global trends in architecture and urban planning.
One of the most discussed topics of the study will be the concept of the architecture of the future. Experts will discuss issues related to the balance between national and global influences in urban planning: which trends to follow, which principles to rely on, and what values to convey.
The discussion on the study results will feature Professor of the International Academy of Architecture (IAA), Head of the "Architecture" department at HSE, President of the Yakov Chernikhov Foundation, curator and architect of the "The Birth of Scale" exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA Andrei Chernikhov, co-founder of the Strategic Development Agency "CENTRE" Sergey Georgievsky, as well as architect, co-founder, and head of the Pole Design project group Vladimir Kuzmin. The moderator will be journalist and editor-in-chief of the media outlet "Project RUSSIA" Yulia Shishalova. The experts will discuss current trends in shaping the unique identity of Russian cities, architectural identity, and dialogue with historical heritage.
The study was conducted with the support of the Megabudka Architecture Bureau, Stepan Lipgart Bureau, and the media "Project RUSSIA".
The event program "Looking into the Future" includes panel discussions and specialized sessions addressing key issues in architecture and urban planning, such as the visual style of regions, the revival of historical territories, urban identity, and the architecture of the future.
