President of Russia Vladimir Putin addresses participants of the All-Russian Homeroom Teachers' Forum and the First School Principals' Forum

The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, welcomed participants of the All-Russian Homeroom Teachers' Forum and the First School Principals' Forum that are being held at the National Centre RUSSIA in Moscow, and congratulated them on the upcoming Teachers' Day. The message from the head of state was read out by the Chief of the Presidential Directorate for Social Projects, Sergei Novikov.

"Holding events of such significance for the professional community in the run-up to Teachers' Day has already become a good tradition. This year, teachers, experts and representatives of government bodies from all regions of our country and a number of foreign states have come together at one venue. Our focus is on developing the general education system, expanding the best practices, and introducing modern technologies and advanced methods. I would like to note that school principals and homeroom teachers play an enormous role in the educational and upbringing process. Your work undoubtedly requires not only deep knowledge and specialised expertise, but also the ability to understand and support young people, identify the talents and abilities of each child and help them fulfil their potential," the President of Russia said in his message.

In his address, Vladimir Putin also expressed confidence that the Homeroom Teachers' Forum and the First School Principals' Forum would take place in a constructive and creative atmosphere, and that the ideas and proposals put forward by participants would be in demand and help unlock the potential of Russia's education system for the benefit of the younger generation, introducing them to modern knowledge and traditional moral values. The President congratulated the participants on the upcoming Teachers' Day and wished them success and well-being.

The forums are being held on the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. The Humanitarian Projects Foundation is the operator. Two major projects in the field of education are being held at the same venue for the first time. The events have brought together more than a thousand participants from across the country and abroad.

Key topics on the programme include educational work, fostering civic responsibility and patriotism, managing education systems and career guidance for school students. Panel discussions, debates on artificial intelligence and a meeting of the "Principals' Club" are planned. The forums will also determine the finalists of the television show "Klassnaya Tema!" ("Cool Topic!") and present the All-Russian "Russia — My Horizons" Award for achievements in implementing the Unified Career Guidance Model.
