Registration for the All-Russian Video Essay Contest "Dreams of the Future" has been extended
The National Centre RUSSIA has extended the registration period for the contest "Dreams of the Future" following numerous requests from school and university students who expressed interest in the project. Additional activities from the contest's partners are also being introduced. As a result, registration is now open until April 27, and video essays can be uploaded to the website dream.russia.ru until April 30, 2025.
Winners will receive valuable prizes — laptops, headphones, and smartphones. In addition, participants have the chance to compete for a prize based on a readers' vote — a one-year supply of books from the federal bookstore chain "Chitai-Gorod" and the youth media "YOUF — your media about reading". To enter, participants must publish their video essay on VKontakte with the hashtag #будущеемечты. Five videos with the highest number of views, posted between March 24 and April 30 and approved through moderation, will be selected to participate in the voting, which will take place from May 1 to 19 on the VKontakte platform.
The "Dreams of the Future" contest is designed to inspire young people to reflect on the future and to introduce them to the works of science fiction writers. Participants are required to create a video essay starting with the words: "We want to create a future where..." and include a mandatory reference to a work of science fiction from therecommended list. This list was specially prepared for the contest by the Russian State Library for Young Adults and the Council for Science Fiction and Adventure Literature of the Union of Writers of Russia, with the participation of the Eksmo-AST publishing group.
Twenty teams will reach the final, and six of them will become winners and prize-winners. The results will be announced on June 1, International Children's Day, during the award ceremony at the National Centre RUSSIA.
The contest is held within the framework of the Decade of Science and Technology with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Russian public-and-state movement of children and youth "Movement of the First", the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Spheres under the Presidential Council for Science and Education of the Russian Federation, the Russian State Library for Young Adults, the Council for Science Fiction and Adventure Literature of the Union of Writers of Russia, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), ANO "ArtMasters", ANO "Russia – Land of Opportunity", and the All-Russian Festival "NAUKA 0+".
The literary partner of the contest is the Eksmo-AST publishing group, the official bookstore chain is "Chitai-Gorod", the social content partner is "YOUF — your media about reading", and the analytical partner is VCIOM.
The "Dreams of the Future" contest continues the mission of the National Centre RUSSIA to revive public interest in shaping the future — a direction that was set at the I International Symposium "Inventing the Future".
The integration of special military operation veterans into peaceful life and the interaction between regions and municipalities were discussed as part of the Forum "SMALL HOMELAND – THE STRENGTH OF RUSSIA".
