On 24 March, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted a tour show of the "More Than a Trip" programme by Rosmolodezh. The event presented the main projects for 2026 and launched registration for the All-Russian Family Tourism Festival "More Than a Trip". The festival will be held in Mordovia from 9 to 12 July.

Applications to participate in the All-Russian Family Tourism Festival "More Than a Trip" can be submitted on the project's website until 20 May. For the 150 families that pass the competitive selection, the organisers will cover travel, food, and accommodation costs.

"For young families to combine parenthood with self-fulfilment, spend their time usefully, and be part of a community of caring and active families from across the country, we are organising the All-Russian Family Tourism Festival 'More Than a Trip. This year it will bring together more than 5,000 participants – twice as many as last year. Festival guests will be able to enjoy hikes, meetings with travellers, attending educational lectures, sports activities, and a cultural and educational programme," noted Grigory Gurov, Head of Rosmolodezh.

In the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, the "More Than a Trip" programme by Rosmolodezh will launch a new contest, titled "Know. Love. Be Proud!". 150,000 people from all over the country will take part in it. The contest will help participants to go from getting to know their region to creating their own travel routes.

In 2026, a military-historical expedition trip will be organised to Shumshu Island (one of the islands of the northern Kuril Islands), and it will consist of five consecutive sessions. The first search expedition trip was held last year, and was timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the victory over militaristic Japan and the end of the Second World War.

The inter-university programme of student expeditions, "Discovering Russia Anew", will provide students with the opportunity to employ their professional skills to solve current tasks of the regions during expeditions.

The "More Than a Job" project is being actively implemented. Five thousand young people will go on career guidance trips to get acquainted with the work of domestic enterprises.

Socially significant initiatives will continue, including the "SVOikh ne brosayem!" ("We Don't Leave Our Boys Behind!") project, as well as projects aimed at supporting the youth of Donbass, Novorossiya, and bordering regions.

Priority areas for the development of youth tourism include further revival of the hiking movement through the organisation of tourist gatherings, the "Time of Discoveries" series of hikes, projects such as "More Than a Holiday" and "With a Backpack on My Shoulders", as well as the new media competition "Camera. Hike. Russia".

Representatives of the "Guides of Meaning. Guides" community can already submit applications to participate in the international project of the same name. Additionally, this year the "More Than a Trip" Academy will conduct new educational programmes for tour guides.

In April, the application campaign for the All-Russian Award "More Than a Trip" will begin. It is aimed at identifying and encouraging projects, organisations, and people who instil a value-based foundation in youth travel and inspire through their own example. Applications will be accepted from tourism companies, tour guides, media content creators, organisers of hikes and youth events, and regional teams.

"In its sixth season, the programme will reach up to 300,000 people. In the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared by the President, travelling around one's native country takes on even greater significance. Every region of Russia is unique, and our task is to give young people the opportunity to feel like part of a large, multinational, and united country. It is through trips around their homeland that young people get to know the peoples inhabiting the regions, their customs, unique culture, and traditions," emphasised Olesya Teterina, Director General of the Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation "More Than a Trip".

The "More Than a Trip" programme by Rosmolodezh is implemented under the national project "Youth and Children". Over the years, the programme has become an effective tool for patriotic upbringing of the younger generation. Thanks to it, more than 320,000 children and young people have already embarked on trips across Russia. In 2026, the programme's events will cover the entire country – from the Far East to Kaliningrad.
