Journey into the history of Atom: inclusive excursions for Exposition guests
The Atom
pavilion invites visitors with disabilities to take a sightseeing tour. This
week, on May 16, such a tour will be available for people with hearing
impairments. Special employees of the Association of Sign Language Interpreters
will make traveling through the pavilion interesting and comfortable.
Guests will
be immersed in the exciting era of the Soviet nuclear industry. All necessary
information will be duplicated by an interpreter in Russian sign language. It
will be possible to learn about key moments in the history of nuclear power,
see schemes, models and real historical artifacts.
With the
help of the "Time Elevator" guests will be able to visit the cellars of the
German uranium plant and Combine No. 817. You will learn how the "atomic" city
of Sarov was built and lived, how the first RDS nuclear bomb was assembled and
how the world welcomed its emergence. Also, during the excursion you will learn
how in the modern world atomic energy is used to treat cancer, sanitize food
and desalinate water. The guests will be able to try to remove a malignant
tumor and save products from dangerous bacteria, viruses and fungi.
Besides, it
will be possible to evaluate the central object of the exposition - a model of
a water-water energetic reactor. Generation of electricity from the energy of
atomic nucleus fission is a complex and coordinated process, which can be
compared to the work of an orchestra. Each instrument here has its own sound.
Together they play a symphony written especially for ATOM.
