A rocket with the logo of the International RUSSIA EXPO was launched from Baikonur
On September 15, the Soyuz MS-24 manned spacecraft with the ISS crew on board was launched. The distinctive feature of the rocket was the logo of the International RUSSIA EXPO, which was applied to the launch vehicle. The logo was designed based on the six main time periods of our country’s history. The evolution of the font forms reflects the development of culture, people and country. The Soyuz MS-24 crew set off for the ISS on an ultra-short schedule, the flight will take 3 hours and 14 minutes.
Among the crew members is Oleg Kononenko, deputy chief of the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Center, commander of the Roscosmos cosmonaut squadron, who has lived and worked in Samara for a long time.
"If there was no Samara period in my life, there would be no cosmonaut Kononenko. Upon graduation from the institute, I was assigned to a design bureau that produced advanced spacecraft. I quickly grew up and became a leading designer. Samara produces everything: from rockets to spacecraft. Therefore, Samara fully justifies the title of Russia’s space capital", — said Oleg Kononenko, commander of the cosmonaut squadron of Roscosmos, at a press conference of the crew of the Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft at Baikonur.
The international RUSSIA EXPO will start on November 4, 2023 and will last until April 12, 2024. It is held to demonstrate Russia’s most important achievements in various sectors of the economy. Visitors to the exposition will be able to see displays of 89 Russian regions, federal departments, corporations and public organizations. The organizers have planned an extensive educational, cultural and business program.
