Parents grow alongside their children: Yekaterina Klimova speaks at the National Centre RUSSIA
When children grow up, parents enter a new stage
of life — they have more time for themselves, but the need
to stay close, offer support and learn to understand one another does
not disappear. Theatre and film actress and mother of four Yekaterina
Klimova shared this thought at the II All-Russian Congress
of Parent Committees at the National Centre RUSSIA.
The thematic meeting «Happy Together: Family as the Main Value» took place
on 8 September, the second day of the Congress. Participants
discussed raising children, strengthening family values and parents' personal
experiences. The central theme of Yekaterina Klimova’s speech was how
children and parents grow and mature together.
«It is an endless journey of growing up for the parent
too. You change alongside your children. We can imagine what kind
of mothers, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers we will be. But
when you meet a particular child, with their own character, you realise
that everything is much more interesting and complicated. At this
point, I would not even try to predict what kind of grandmother
I will be. But I will do my best,» Yekaterina Klimova emphasised.
The actress noted that this new stage of life gives parents an opportunity to devote more attention to their own interests — for example, learning languages, singing or dancing. However, staying connected with their children and caring for the family remain an important part of life, while another role lies ahead — becoming a grandmother.
The discussion at the Congress served as a reminder that raising a child is not limited to helping with schoolwork or monitoring everyday matters. What matters especially to a child is attention, trust and the sense that loved ones are ready to support them at every stage. At the same time, this journey helps adults understand themselves better, change and grow alongside their children.
The II All-Russian Congress of Parent Committees took place on 7–8 September at the National Centre RUSSIA and brought together 600 representatives of the parent community from all 89 regions of Russia, as well as Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The organisers were the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, together with the Russian society Znanie and the Russian Children and Youth Centre.
At "INNOPROM. India", the National Centre RUSSIA is introducing its Indian partners to Russia's traditional crafts, thereby strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
The International Industrial Trade Fair "INNOPROM. India" continues in New Delhi.
Exposition architecture should evoke positive emotions, inspire visitors and remain attractive over the long term.
