Russia in flowers: a musical tournament was held at the RUSSIA EXPO
Collectives
from the Northwestern macroregion performed songs about flowers in modern
arrangements in the fight for the audience's prize. The tournament was held
within the framework of the "Future in Flowers"
festival, which started at the Exposition on May 21.
The Veresk
ensemble from the Leningrad region, the Talantika children's vocal and pop
ensemble of the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov Children's Music School No. 1 (Pskov
region), the Yunost group from Kaliningrad and the Bis-Kvit group from St.
Petersburg appeared before the guests of the Exposition. The musicians performed such compositions as "Cheremushka",
"Flight of the Bumblebee", "Forget me Not" and "Cooler
than All" for the festival visitors.
The winner
of the tournament by the guests’ votes was the collective Bis-Kvit, which
performed an encore for the festival visitors.
"Everything
that is connected with creative work evokes the most positive emotions in us.
Our latest visit to the capital was marked by such an unexpected victory. We
are very happy that modern Russian national instruments, i.e. what we promote,
resonate in the hearts of people, especially young people," said Andrei
Antipov, a member and artistic director of Bis-Kvit.
The
Bis-Kvit band combines the sound of Russian folk and pop-jazz instruments in
exclusive author's arrangements.
"Our
ensemble works in the musical style of crossover. And the name of the
collective symbolizes the combination of different musical ingredients - genre
and instrumental. We play not only Russian national instruments, but also
pop-jazz instruments - accordion, saxophone and drums. Thanks to this approach
the musical possibilities become limitless," added Andrei Antipov.
The band
members also shared their impressions of the performance at the RUSSIA EXPO.
"Emotions
are off the charts; our victory was unexpected. Very cool groups performed,
including a very talented children's vocal and pop ensemble. Our victory was a
surprise, we are very pleased that we won this tournament," said Olga
Yevstafieva, a member of the Bis-Kvit band.
On July 8,
the "Future in Flowers" festival started at the RUSSIA EXPO.
Especially for it, a circular exposition was built on the Industrial Square,
where flowerbeds of the regions are presented. In addition, there is a workshop
of the same name, where Russian breeders present their achievements - they will
demonstrate 400 varieties of peonies, 140 varieties of lilacs, 120 varieties of
irises and 250 varieties of roses from different parts of our country. Vertical
flowerbeds prepared by state corporations and other thematic expositions appeared
on the territory of the RUSSIA EXPO. A total of 100 million flowers are used
within the festival.
