Russian and international students shared their vision of promoting Russian products abroad
On 21 October, as part of the "Made in Russia" International Export Forum, the Export School of the Russian Export Centre (VEB Group), together with the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, organised a project workshop "Made in Russia. Made by People of Russia", where Russian and international students, together with industry experts, developed and proposed projects to promote Russian goods abroad.
At the design workshop' site, students from Russian universities, as well as invited students from friendly countries, took the history and culture of Russia as a source of inspiration, and, after some brainstorming, developed expressive marketing images to promote domestic products on the international market.
First, the entrants analyzed Russian historical and cultural values and their influence on the formation of a collective image of Russia as a manufacturer, including abroad. Then, based on the results obtained, they developed a concept of national identity — a foundation for a national product brand — and based on it, they created draft strategies for the Russian goods international promotion.
"The REC Export School has not previously conducted such events as the one organised by the design workshop today — it was an experiment for us. The result exceeded all expectations — the number of bright and, most importantly, useful ideas proposed by young specialists turned out to be higher than the wildest forecasts. The students did a great job, and I am sure that their work will become part of a real strategy for international promotion of Russian goods by the REC Group," said Alicia Nikitina, Director General of the REC Export School.
The teams handed the results of their work over to the Russian Export Centre' expert commission, which will work on integrating the proposed ideas into the REC Group's system for promoting domestic goods to foreign markets.
Following the results of the event, both participants and experts gave strictly positive feedback, describing the event as an excellent opportunity for professional growth, and expressed a desire to attend similar events in the future.
