Samat and Syumbel demonstrated Tatar traditions: Wedding at the RUSSIA EXPO
A marriage
ceremony according to Tatar traditions took place at the International RUSSIA
EXPO. The happy newlyweds were 23-year-old Samat Ziyatdinov and Syumbel
Ibragimova, natives of Baltasinskiy district of the Republic. Hundreds of
Moscow citizens and honorable guests from the Republic of Tatarstan came to
congratulate the couple and get acquainted with the traditions of Tatar
wedding.
The newly
married spouses grew up in large families. The Ziyatdinovs have five children,
and the Ibragimovs have three. In 2013, the groom's family won first place at
the festival-competition Successful Family of the Volga Region, in 2014 took
part in the international forum Large Family - the Future of Humanity, and in
2020, by the Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Ziyatdinov family
was awarded a high state award - the medal of the Order of Parental Glory.
Syumbel’s family belongs to a distinguished dynasty of hereditary teachers,
both parents of the girl work in the Knin school named after Rakhimov. As is
customary in strong and close-knit Tatar families, the parents and numerous
relatives of the newlyweds also came to the wedding ceremony to share this
unforgettable event with them.
"These
are exemplary families from Baltasinskiy district, and let us all together give
a standing ovation to the young family, wish them success, long, long years of
life together and many, many children, demography is our main issue", - said
Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan. As a wedding gift from
the head of the region, the young people received a certificate for a wedding
trip to the Republic of Altai.
"This
is definitely not the first wedding at the RUSSIA EXPO, but it is definitely
the most numerous. We had an important event yesterday, all Russian Ded Morozes
came and, of course, the Tatar Kysh Babai was there too, and he said: "The
strength of Russia is in unity." And I wish you to be always together,
love each other and always look in the same direction", joined in the
congratulations Deputy Director General of the ANO «Directorate of the
Exhibition of Achievements "Russia"» Anastasia Zvyagina.

met while studying at the gymnasium. Now the young man is studying at KNRTU-KAI
in the specialty "Design of aviation and rocket engines", and since
2019 he has been playing in the Volga Amateur Hockey League. His beloved is a
master's student of the department of Industrial Safety of KNRTU (KChTI),
concurrently working at the department.
"This
is the first real traditional Tatar wedding at the RUSSIA EXPO - and it is
ours, so we are very proud to have been chosen to represent our beloved
Republic, and we are very grateful to the RUSSIA EXPO for this opportunity. In
the future we plan to continue to grow further in our Republic, we have all
conditions for young people, so we will stay at home", - said Syumbel
Ibragimova.
"We are delighted that we were able to show all our traditions, because, as they say, our traditions are our place of strength, and together we can achieve all our goals", - Samat Ziyatdinov added.
A folk Tatar wedding lasts several days. It starts at the bride's house and then - after matchmaking, engagement and other important traditional rituals - continues at the groom's house.
Guests of the Tatar wedding ceremony at the RUSSIA EXPO saw the transfer of ethnic jewelry from mother to daughter, the change of a maiden's shawl to a wedding shawl, symbolizing the beginning of a new life of a girl in the status of a wife, preparation of the groom, performance of the farewell male dance, treating the bride and groom with honey and butter for a sweet and easy life, as well as other components of the national Tatar wedding. Artists of the State Song and Dance Ensemble of Tatarstan helped to recreate the atmosphere of historical wedding rituals of the region.
According to the results of 2022 among the Volga Federal District subjects, the Republic of Tatarstan is in first place in the number of marriages, and from January to October 2023, almost 22 thousand marriages were registered.
The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country gathered in one place. Throughout the entire time of the exposition, guests can expect cultural and entertainment events, a rich business and educational program. The expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and public organizations are presented to the visitors.
The first event to be held at the Russia National Centre, which is being established by the order of President Vladimir Putin, will be the International Science Fiction Symposium and Exhibition "Inventing the Future". The symposium will take place from November 4 to 6.
Tomorrow, the International RUSSIA EXPO will conclude its work. From November 2023 to July 2024, it was visited by more than 18 million guests.
Every day, for eight months, the RUSSIA EXPO delighted guests and gave unforgettable emotions.
