Airplanes and unique gems: Ulyanovsk region at the RUSSIA EXPO
Leadership in the aviation industry, unique gems and famous athletes. The Ulyanovsk region revealed the most important things about itself at the RUSSIA EXPO.
The region produces Il-76MD-90A transport aircrafts, assembles the interiors of Sukhoi Superjet 100 family aircrafts, participates in the creation of new short-range passenger aircrafts MS-21 and Il-114-300. One of the key projects is the development and production of blades made of domestic materials for wind turbines.
"Ulyanovsk region is traditionally the leader of the aviation industry. Enterprises of this sphere make a significant contribution both to the economy of the region and the whole country", — said Governor Alexey Russkikh.
The region signed an agreement with Promsvyazbank on the construction of a multifunctional residential complex for aviation industry workers and a number of other documents.
The visitors were told about famous natives of the region, as well as about the semi-precious gemstone, which is mined in the region. Souvenirs made of it were raffled off among the guests of the exposition.
The most interesting event was the meeting with famous sportsmen representing the Ulyanovsk region. Among them are Olympic champion Vitaly Konstantinov, Olympic bronze medalist Zafar Guliev, world champions Alexander Bezruchkin and Inna Trazhukova and other famous athletes. And mixed martial arts fighter Vladimir Mineev gave a lecture titled "The Lesson of Success".
