Semyon Mikhailovsky to lead a series of open dialogues on the culture of the future at the National Centre RUSSIA
At the first event organized by the National Centre RUSSIA — the International Symposium "Inventing the Future" — there will be a series of open dialogues called "The Art of Living." Semyon Mikhailovsky, curator of the exposition "Legacy for the Future" at the National Centre, and Rector of the Repin St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, will serve as its moderator. The meetings will be held in Pavilion No. 7 (Lecture Hall) and will be devoted to the future of culture and art.
Symposium participants are invited to engage in dialogues on art — a creative force that enables people to shape the future here and now. What changes will art undergo in the near future? What role will it play in the lives of new generations? These are the key questions that participants will explore through open dialogue.
On November 4, Mikhail Kovalchuk, President of the Kurchatov Institute National Research Centre, and Karin Kneissl, Head of the Geopolitical Observatory for Russia's Key Issues (G.O.R.K.I. Centre) at St. Petersburg State University, former Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs (2017-2019), will join the discussion.
On November 5, the open dialogue will feature Leo Bokeria, Professor of Surgery, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, President of the Bakulev National Medical Research Centre of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Russian Ministry of Health, along with Yuri Bashmet, artistic director and chief conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra "New Russia" and artistic director, conductor, and soloist of the "Moscow Soloists" Ensemble.
The series "The Art of Living" will conclude on November 6 with a conversation with architect Nikolai Shumakov, President of the Union of Architects of Russia, General Director of the Central House of Architects, Chief Architect of MetroGiproTrans JSC and member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts.
On July 1, 2024, President Vladimir Putin signed an order to establish the National Centre RUSSIA to preserve the legacy of the RUSSIA EXPO and showcase the country's achievements on a permanent basis.
From November 4 to 6, the National Centre RUSSIA will host the International Symposium "Inventing the Future." The participants will include scientists and researchers, futurologists and forecasters, science fiction writers, and representatives of the authorities.
The Symposium will become a unique international platform for open dialog, where the scenarios of human development and global challenges of our time will be discussed. The program includes more than 60 events in four areas: the future of human, the future of technology, the future of the multipolar world, and the future of civilization.
The event will be attended by scientists, futurists, government and business representatives from 100 countries, including Austria, Argentina, India, China, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and others.
The Symposium program is published on the website future.russia.ru. Broadcasts of the events will also be available there during the days of the Symposium.
As part of the opening of the Symposium, an exposition will be launched that will support the idea of a human-centric dialogue about the future of the world. The exposition will allow each visitor to realize the importance of personal contribution to the future.

The children's workshop "Houses and Little Homes in the City" was held on 19 April at the National Centre RUSSIA.
The large-scale international project Open Dialogue "The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth" will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA from 28 to 30 April 2025.
