Family, love, and fidelity: why July 8 is the perfect day for a wedding at the National Centre RUSSIA
The Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity, celebrated annually in Russia on July 8, serves as a reminder of the importance of strong relationships, care, and mutual support within the family. This holiday is dedicated to the traditional values that make our society strong: love and understanding.
Since 2022, the holiday has had official status – the decree was signed by President Vladimir Putin. The date is associated with the commemoration of Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom, whose marriage became a symbol of love, fidelity, and mutual support – the foundation of a strong family.
That same year, a decree "On Preserving and Strengthening Traditional Spiritual and Moral Values" was also signed, listing the strong family among its core elements.
From July 8 to July 10, 2025, the second All-Russian Wedding Festival "Russia. Uniting Hearts" will be held at the National Centre RUSSIA. The programme will include tours, workshops, expositions, lectures, and public talks. Festival guests will learn about the richness of wedding traditions from Russia’s many ethnic groups. The event will culminate with a gala concert.
The first All-Russian Wedding Festival took place last year at the RUSSIA EXPO, where 221 couples were officially married. This year, couples from across the country will once again have the chance to tie the knot. If you wish to get married on July 8, you must submit your application by June 7 (inclusive).
For other dates:
– for July 9 – submit by June 8 (inclusive);
– for July 10 – submit by June 9 (inclusive).
To participate, there is one important requirement: each couple must include elements of a national costume in their wedding attire, highlighting the diversity of the country's cultural traditions.
Applications with photos can be submitted via the official website of the National Centre RUSSIA, the "Gosuslugi" public services portal, or by sending documents via email to the Moscow Civil Registry Office (zags@mos.ru). Participants will be selected on a competitive basis by a joint commission of the Moscow Civil Registry Office and the National Centre RUSSIA.
