Sergei Shoigu and the Chinese delegation visited the expositions at the National Centre RUSSIA
On May 27, the XIII International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues opened at the National Centre RUSSIA under the chairmanship of Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu.
The event brings together around 130 delegations from 110 countries, representing BRICS, the SCO, ASEAN, the CIS, the League of Arab States, the African Union, the CSTO, and other international organisations. The central topic of the meeting is the formation of a new architecture of equal and indivisible security.
The Secretary of the Security Council of Russia emphasised the need for coordinated efforts in the field of information security.
"The time has come for us to join forces with neighbouring countries in our efforts in matters of information security, which means we need to establish joint information security centres and conduct joint exercises," Sergei Shoigu stated.
Sergei Shoigu and Chen Wenqing — member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the CPC, and Head of the Chinese intelligence services — visited the exposition "Journey Across Russia." They were accompanied by Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA, Natalia Virtuozova, who presented the features of each federal district, their achievements, culture, and landmarks.
"It is important for us that the participants of the international meeting are able to see Russia as it truly is — modern, multifaceted, with a rich history and culture. Our exposition "Journey Across Russia" is an opportunity to discover the country’s diversity in a single space, to explore its achievements, and to sense its scale. We hope this becomes another step towards mutual understanding and dialogue between nations," said Natalia Virtuozova, Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA.
Chen Wenqing showed particular interest in the model of the "Meteor 120R" — a next-generation hydrofoil passenger vessel. He was told that the 36-metre-long vessel can carry up to 120 passengers and reach speeds of up to 65 km/h, making it a convenient transport option for travelling along the Volga River.
Sergei Shoigu and Chen Wenqing also visited an exposition of defence and digital technologies presented as part of the event. The stands feature the latest Russian developments in the fields of armaments and information technology.
During the tour of the National Centre RUSSIA, the Cyberus Cybersecurity Development Foundation presented its solutions for building sovereign cybersecurity infrastructure.
"We are currently at a point where countries are joining forces to help one another develop cybersecurity industries capable of supporting a new digital world. Today, Russia is ready to offer its experience and developments in this area to friendly partner countries," said Yuri Maksimov, Co-Founder of the Foundation.
The Special Technology Centre LLC presented a radar system for detecting unmanned aerial vehicles, a stationary jammer for electronic disruption of control channels, and a radio signal detector. Participants explored themed expositions specially prepared at the National Centre RUSSIA for the event, including displays dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the special military operation.
Heads of delegations also visited Victory Park and the Museum of Victory on Poklonnaya Hill. They laid flowers at the monument and viewed expositions dedicated to the heroism of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War.
