"Fairytale Legacy" by Liza Anisimova at the Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA
Russian fairy tales come to life in colour, fabric and
traditional crafts within the space of Department Store of the National Centre
RUSSIA. Visitors are invited to meet the characters of "Fairytale
Legacy" — an original project by the young St Petersburg artist Liza
Anisimova that brings together painting, theatrical costume, decorative art and
contemporary artistic techniques. More than fifty unique outfits have been
created by hand using fabric painting, embroidery and decorative elements.
Liza Anisimova draws inspiration for her works from the
depths of national culture — legends, tales and traditional crafts. Images
familiar from childhood are transformed into independent art objects. Among the
characters presented in the exposition at Department Store RUSSIA are the Swan
Princess, Baba Yaga, the sage from "The Tale of the Golden Cockerel",
Prince Yelisei, the Princess from "The Tale of the Dead Princess and the
Seven Bogatyrs" and even the Noblewoman from "The Tale of the
Fisherman and the Fish". Each image reveals new facets of the Russian
cultural code, understandable to both children and adults.
Today, Liza Anisimova is included in the list of the 100
most talented children in the world as a laureate of the international Global
Child Prodigy Award. A distinctive feature of the artist’s creative style is
the creation of "living" paintings whose prototypes are real people.
Art historians have already duly recognised Liza Anisimova’s
talent. Her works have been exhibited at the State Hermitage Museum, the A. S.
Pushkin State Museum, the State Academic Capella of St Petersburg, the Union of
Artists and the Kaliningrad Museum of Fine Arts. Many of her works have entered
private collections and museum holdings around the world. The creative projects
of the young prodigy have been presented on theatre stages, at fashion shows,
auctions, festivals, expositions and art performances in Russia and abroad, and
well-known brands regularly involve her in projects in the fields of fashion,
theatre and cinema.
"Fairytale Legacy" is one of Liza Anisimova’s most ambitious projects. The opening of the exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA was timed to coincide with the launch of the exposition "Book of Fairy Tales" and became part of a broad dialogue on preserving and popularising the cultural and historical legacy of the peoples who inhabit our country. Liza Anisimova’s works can be seen in the foyer near the entrance to Department Store.
Unity of peoples is not only about holidays and festivals; its nature is far more complex and multifaceted, noted the Head of the Republic of Mordovia, Artyom Zdunov.
Heroes today are not only defenders of the Fatherland, but also those who accomplish feats through daily work and service: volunteers, mentors and teachers.
Stavropol Region Days are being held at the National Centre RUSSIA from 24 February to 1 March.
