The panels and a painting created at the RUSSIA EXPO were donated to the State Historical Museum
On June 21, a ceremony was held to transfer the heritage
items of the RUSSIA EXPO to the State Historical Museum. A stone panel from the
Altai region and a painting from the Tyumen region will be added to its
collection.
The panel was created by Altai masters of the Kolyvan
Stone-Cutting Plant named after I.I. Polzunov, founded in 1802. It is made of
red Korgon porphyry and Korgon jasper. The panel was assembled on the
Exposition site.
In turn, Igor Ryazantsev, an artist from Tyumen, painted a
picture "Invincible Russia", inspired by the RUSSIA EXPO, using a
unique technique of philumism developed by him. It involves applying acrylic
paint to the canvas with the thinnest threads using a disposable medical
syringe. They started creating a picturesque canvas at the Exposition on the
Day of the Tyumen region together with visitors.
"The art objects are designed to preserve the legacy of
such an important event in the history of our country as the RUSSIA EXPO. They
will tell our grandchildren and great-grandchildren about it," said Anna
Koroleva, curator of cultural programs of the RUSSIA EXPO.
The RUSSIA EXPO is a unique platform that gives an
opportunity to get acquainted with all regions of the country, said Marina
Chistyakova, Deputy Director General for Foundation Work of the State
Historical Museum. According to her, events of this scale are always captured
in cultural monuments.
"The crucial aspect in curating the State Historical
Museum is the meticulous selection of contemporary artworks, by which our
descendants will judge the period in which we lived. This tradition is valuable — I thank the
representatives of the Altai region and the Tyumen region for the fact that a
piece of their artists' work will be kept in our museum forever," said
Marina Chistyakova.
The International RUSSIA EXPO takes place on the territory
of VDNH in Moscow from November 4 to July 8. Visitors are presented expositions
of 89 regions of Russia, leading federal departments, corporations and public
organizations. More than 16 million people have already visited the Exposition.
