Creators of the Future: speaking of science fiction writers who will take part in the International Symposium
The
International Symposium "Inventing the Future", which is going to be
held on November 4-6 at the National Centre RUSSIA, will be attended by famous
science fiction writers along with government officials, prominent scientists,
researchers, futurologists and forecasters. We keep on presenting the
distinguished guests, moderators and experts who will deliver speeches at the
Symposium events.
Italian
writer Roberto Quaglia was named "Europe's Best Writer" in 2009.
Also, in the Hall of Fame Awards of the European Science Fiction Society
(ESFS), he was listed as the best author for his short story "The Beloved
Time of Their Lives" . Roberto Quaglia is co-chairman of the ESFS, which
organizes the Eurocon festivals. As an invited Symposium expert, he will take part
in a discussion of the transition from a unipolar to a multipolar world.
Science
fiction writer and scientist Julia Zonis worked at the University College
London Cancer Institute (UCL Cancer
Institute). Then she was a researcher at the Weizmann Institute of Science
(Israel), and in Toronto. Julia Zonis is currently a head of the laboratory at
BIOCAD company. Her article in the "Biology of the Cell" journal,
which explored the specifics of cell division, was recognized as the best at
the end of the year. The author writes in the genre of biopunk. At the
symposium, Julia Zonis will share her ideas in a discussion about the
technological future of humanity in the context of cyberpunk and biopunk.
Anton
Pervushin is a science fiction writer and a leading Russian expert on the
history of space exploration. Thus, he is an author of dozens of books and TV
shows about cosmonautics. Among his works: "The Last Space Chance,"
in which he examines the prospects for space travel and the causes of stagnation
in space exploration in our time, "108 Minutes Which Changed the
World," about Yuri Gagarin's space flight, "Yuri Gagarin: One Flight
And a Lifetime." Anton Pervushin is the research manager of the displays:
"Gagarin: the Hero of Our Time" and "A Word about the Son"
at the Joint Memorial Museum of Yuri Gagarin. At the Symposium, the expert will
take part in the discussion of space technologies.
On July 1,
2024, President Vladimir Putin signed an order establishing the National Centre
RUSSIA, with the purpose to preserve the legacy of the International RUSSIA
EXPO, and to showcase the country's achievements on an ongoing basis.
On November
4-6, the International Symposium "Inventing the Future" will be held
at the National Centre RUSSIA. Along with the Symposium, a large-scale art show
"Legacy for the Future" will kick off. It will feature works by young
artists -- graduates of art universities from different countries. The show
condones the idea of a dialogue about the future of the world where man is in the
focus.
The thematic directions of the II International Symposium "Inventing the Future" programme have been announced.
The annual Symposium will unite more than 7,000 experts from the SCO and BRICS countries, the Asia-Pacific region, Europe and the United States, to develop positive scenarios for the future.
The dialogue set the tone for discussion of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time, and was devoted to the study of key climate changes.
