"The play 'Morozko' should be seen by international audiences," — Alexander Alimov
The play "Morozko" at the National Centre RUSSIA
is a modern and vibrant production that reveals traditional Russian values —
kindness, family traditions and the bond between generations — through the
power of art. It is important that this work be seen not only by our own
citizens, but also by international audiences. Alexander Alimov, Deputy
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, shared his impressions
of the production.
"It is important that our international guests see this
production too. Russia and its people exist and will continue to exist. We live
within tradition. We move forward, combining high technology and groundbreaking
innovations, while respecting what our ancestors gave us. This is where our
traditional values lie — they are not archaic in the least, but rather guide us
into the future," emphasised Alexander Alimov.
The senior diplomat noted that the Russian Ministry of
Foreign Affairs and the National Centre RUSSIA are long‑standing
partners. According to him, staff from the foreign affairs agency frequently
attend events here, which invariably take place at a high level.
"A mesmerising performance. When you see the Principals
of the Bolshoi Theatre dancing before you, the Russian National Ballet
'Kostroma' — which I love — and leading actors from Moscow’s drama theatres, it
is always spectacular. This is a technologically and choreographically flawless
and very engaging work," shared Alexander Alimov.
The multi‑genre play "Morozko" is
a New Year story for the whole family — but first and foremost for children,
who followed the characters with great interest, rejoicing and empathising with
them. According to the diplomat, every fairy tale has positive and negative
characters. Yet in the play "Morozko", all the characters are very
charming.
On one stage, ballet, opera, folk music and contemporary
choreography come together. Among the participants are artists from the Bolshoi
Theatre, the Kremlin Ballet, the folk group "Buranovskie Babushki",
leading actors from Moscow’s theatres and many others.
Screenings of the author’s multi‑genre play

One of the leading roles in the production was performed by Bolshoi Theatre prima ballerina Kristina Kretova.

On 28 December, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted the final and most anticipated performance of the "Winter Wizards" festival.
