On February 23, the International RUSSIA EXPO invites you to take part in the Defender of the Fatherland Day events, as well as attend educational lectures, meetings with experts and exciting musical events.

Events of the Defender of the Fatherland Day educational program:

Marathon for the Defender of the Fatherland Day: stories of the heroes of the Fatherland through the ages

The event will feature presentations by Larisa Berezova, representative of the State Borodino Military Historical Museum-Reserve; Sergei Golovin, advisor to the Rector of the Russian State Social University and editor of the Sammlung/Collection magazine; and war correspondents Ivan Kamenev and Timofey Ermakov.

Meeting with the legendary paratrooper raccoon named Kherson

Guests will be able to see the raccoon rescued from the Kherson Zoo, while Roman, the serviceman who rescued him, will tell the story in detail and answer questions.

Oleg Gazmanov's show-lecture "Legends of Tavrida"

The People's Artist of Russia will hold a chamber meeting with his fans, talented youth and everyone who wants to get to know him not only as a professional, but also as a person. The format of the meeting implies a direct dialog with the audience, a lively and open conversation about art, life values and plans for the future.

Meeting with writer Oleg Roy

The event will include the presentation of the book "Shadows of Donbass. Small Stories of the Big War". The writer will talk about his new book, which features first-person non-fictional stories of real people. Heroes of stories - soldiers of the special military operation, militiamen and people of civilian professions, adults, children, the elderly, who were stronger than the ordeal that fell on their share.

Concert program "Donbass. Songs From the Frontline"

Mikhail Khokhlov, composer, author of the hit song "Donbass is Behind Us" and the anthem of the DPR, poet-songwriter Elizaveta Khaplanova, the band "123 POLK", Sergei Nikhaenko, Mark - Russian Soul, the bands "More Monroe", S.P.L.A.V., "Cuba" and others will take part in the event.

Concert program "On Guard of Frontiers"

Songs of different years about Russia, defenders of the Fatherland, about the nation will be heard from the stage. They will be performed by the leading vocal ensemble of the Kursk State Philharmonic "Rossy" under the direction of V. Prokhorova, soloists L. Razinkova and V. Domashev. The Jump modern dance ensemble under the direction of N. Glukhareva will present choreographic numbers that will help the audience to feel the atmosphere of different historical periods of Russia.

Concert "Main Children's Songs"

The audience will hear songs written by the best contemporary authors and performed by young vocalists.

The play is dedicated to strong Russian women, who together with soldiers work in the zone of the special military operation. The plot is based on real stories of people - participants and eyewitnesses of the events. Oleg Gazmanov and Shaman will be the headliners.

Concert-journey through the significant historical events of our Motherland

The audience will remember the feats of heroes of our country from ancient times to modern Russia. The concert program will feature choreographic numbers, theatrical acts, famous vocal works.

New festive light show "Happy Defender of the Fatherland Day" by Russian Children and Youth Movement

The show will amaze the audience with bright images and richness of meanings. It is replayed every five minutes.

Exposition "My Heart is Full of Pity" for the anniversary of Alexei German will allow you to see the "underside" of the world that the director built together with the crew of the film "Hard to be a God". Exposition "Our People. The Universe of Leonid Gaidai's Characters" is conceived and realized as an excursion into the world of Gaidai's characters. It consists of several sections telling about the "types" - characters of the same type and social affiliation, taking different guises from film to film, but invariably demonstrating their true essence, characteristic for Gaidai's cinematography.

The Museum of Cinema also offers to visit the "Vertical" exposition dedicated to the life and work of Stanislav Govorukhin, the "Labyrinth of History" exposition, the "Handyman" exposition, the memorial "Sergei Eisenstein's Study" and other bright exhibits related to the history of the national cinematography. There is also a retrospective of legendary films by Soviet director Leonid Gaidai.

Exposition "Between Light and Darkness" was opened on the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade. The exposition highlights a number of film works that explore the deep trauma of the entire city and demonstrate that the spark of life, faith, courage and fortitude help to save a human face even in inhuman conditions.

To the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad the exposition "He Filmed the Difficult War Life" was launched. In the museum you can see posters for feature films, sketches for them, sketches of costumes. The documentary section of the exposition presents a wide selection of montage sheets of the frontline cameramen. This historically significant collection is a testament to that most difficult wartime.

Farmers Fair

Guests are invited to get acquainted with the gastronomic culture of small villages and big cities of our country at the Farmers Fair. Here you can taste and buy an incredible variety of cheeses and dairy products, sausages and smoked meat delicacies, berry drinks, juices, lemonades, fruit purees and jams, raw oils, freshly baked bread and gingerbread.

Where: you can comfortably get to our fair from Pavilion No. 75 by shuttles "Farmers Fair", № 533 and K routes from the stop "Northern Loop" at the entrance to the territory of VDNH. Pavilion No. 48 is within walking distance from the "City Farm" stop.
