An agreement on the creation of the consortium "Education and Science for the Development of the Region" was signed at the RUSSIA EXPO by the region's governor Vladimir Vladimirov and Vitaly Bagan, vice-rector of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. It is expected that enterprises of the real sector of economy and social sphere of the region will be involved in the work.
"The efficiency of the region's agro-industrial complex development directly affects the role of Stavropol in ensuring the food security of our country. I am confident that the signing of today's agreement will help attract young competent professionals to the region's agriculture," said Vladimir Vladimirov, Governor of the Stavropol region.
"Our mission is to create conditions favorable for the consolidation of talented young people in the region and their self-realization in interdisciplinary research at the intersection of genetic technologies, agronomy, biophysics and mathematical modeling," said Vitaly Bagan, vice-rector for scientific work at MIPT.
Rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University Vladimir Sitnikov also put his signature under the document.
"MIPT is one of the leading scientific centers of Russia with a unique and strong scientific and pedagogical staff, whose experience will be extremely important in the training of StSAU scientists in the field of plant genomics. The creation of a new consortium will allow us to join resources for the sustainable development of the Stavropol region," said Vladimir Sitnikov.
