Connecting threads of eras: a new tour along Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment
The
National Centre RUSSIA has launched a new tour — an engaging walking route
along Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment. Participants will dive into the history of
the district, where significant events of the past and present are closely
intertwined, vividly reflecting the cultural and geographical features of the
city. It was on Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment that the National Centre RUSSIA opened
its doors on 4 November 2024.
Tour guides
have already conducted the first tours and received enthusiastic feedback from
participants. The tour begins at the "Tree of Life" sculpture in the
lobby of the Delovoy Tsentr metro station (Bagration Bridge). The guide
introduces visitors to this unique work and tells them about its renowned
creator, Ernst Neizvestny. The tour continues with a stroll along
Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment, where participants can see Moscow City,
Bagration Bridge, Expocentre, the World Trade Centre, the House of Government,
the Ukraina Hotel, and Krasnaya Presnya Park. The tour concludes at the
National Centre RUSSIA.
"I was
born and raised in Moscow, yet I never cease to marvel at the capital's beauty
and rich history. This tour is not only an opportunity to admire the city's
wonders but also to learn something new — it's truly inspiring. Thank you to
the National Centre for such a gift! I will definitely return to your tours
with my family," shared Margarita Maksimova.
In just an
hour and a half, participants of the tour can learn many fascinating facts
about the district, once called Kameshki (lit. little stones) due to the
quarries located here. The guide will share stories about the remarkable
political, social, and cultural figures closely associated with the history of
this extraordinary place. Participants will also learn about the projects
planned for the area in the coming years.
"As
someone with a background in history, I found it incredibly interesting to hear
about the development of the Moscow City district and the creation of the
National Centre RUSSIA, as well as its future plans. It was exciting to learn
that the exposition will continue to grow and evolve. This was my first tour
with the National Centre, but I’ve already attended your wonderful concerts and
will definitely return more than once," shared Alexei Solomonov from the
Moscow region.
The tour
participant added that he has already told his friends about the experience. He
is confident that a walk along Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment with a guide from
the National Centre will delight both visitors and residents of the capital.
After the
tour, all participants are welcome to visit the National Centre, where guides
will introduce them to the exposition. Tours are free of charge. The schedule
and registration are available on the website in the "Events"
section.
In the
future, guests of the National Centre can look forward to new walking and bus
tours. One of the routes will focus on exploring the Moscow City business
district.
The National Centre RUSSIA reminds everyone that registration for the video essay contest "Dreams of the Future".
