The "Lipetsk Dance Off" dance tournament was held at the RUSSIA EXPO
The
participants of the dance tournament "Lipetsk Dance Off"
("Lipetsky Pereplyas") were groups founded by a married couple -
Galina Shelyakina, who led the "Rodnichok" dance ensemble, a
distinguished folk art collective of the Lipetsk region, and Valery Shelyakin,
who created the "Razdolie" folk dance ensemble. The dance
concert-tournament was built on the basis of dances of the peoples of the world
and Russian folklore.
One of the
oldest and most popular creative collectives of the Lipetsk region, the folk
dance ensemble "Razdolie" was created by Valery Shelyakin, Merited
Artist of the Russian Federation, in 1967 on the basis of the Palace of Culture
of Trade Unions. Relying on the best traditions of choreographic art, the
legendary ballet master realized more than 100 author's productions,
characterized by originality, variety of artistic forms and director's methods.
The ensemble's multinational repertoire is a real "treasure trove" of
choreographic traditions of the peoples of Russia and other countries of the
world.
The dance
ensemble "Rodnichok" was founded in 1969 on the basis of the Palace
of Culture of Trade Unions. In 1972 the ensemble was one of the first in the
region to be awarded the title "Exemplary". Since 1995 the ensemble
"Rodnichok" bears the name of its founder - Merited Worker of Culture
of the Russian Federation Galina Shelyakina, whose creativity and pedagogical
talent are marked by high state awards: the Order of Honor and the Order of
Friendship of Peoples, the medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland"
II degree. Nowadays "Rodnichok", which has become a
"hallmark" and pride of the Lipetsk region, unites more than 200
children from 5 to 16 years old. The repertoire of the ensemble includes game,
plot dances and dances of the peoples of the world.
During the
concert program between the tournament blocks, there was a performance by the
"Vera" ("Faith") folk song ensemble, a distinguished folk
art collective, whose repertoire includes songs from the Central Black Earth
region.
The event will feature a presentation of a collection of essays written by participants of the international project "Open Dialogue: The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth."
