Winners and runners-up of the Best in Profession All-Russian Professional Skills Contest were awarded at the RUSSIA EXPO. The awarding ceremony was held by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova and Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Russia Anton Kotyakov.

Bulldozer operator Alexander Vaitiev from the Sverdlovsk region and power plant operator Alexey Rydlev from the Vladimir region were also recognized as winners. Each winner received a certificate for one million rubles. Those who took the second and third places got 500,000 and 300,000 rubles respectively. The contest of professional skills is held for the 12th time and is one of the main platforms for popularization of working professions, said Tatyana Golikova.

"The main result is a new attitude to a man of labor. This is a person who chooses a profession that is really to their liking. The one that, as this person believes, brings absolute benefit. The labor market is one of the main challenges for us now. Because the Russian economy is being rebuilt - it sets itself the task of not depending on unfriendly states and ensuring our country's technological sovereignty", - emphasized Tatyana Golikova.

Public recognition allows you to feel proud of your chosen profession, Anton Kotyakov stressed.

"Recognition allows the winners to feel proud of their professions, of the teams that work with them. I am sincerely happy for the lads receiving awards, and I wish everyone to take an active part in our contest - especially since the list of professions and nominations will be gradually expanding", - said the head of the Ministry of Labor Anton Kotyakov.

It is organized by the Ministry of Labor together with federal and regional executive authorities, all-Russian associations of trade unions and employers. The key task of the competition is to raise the prestige of working professions and disseminate the best experience and practices of personnel training. Every year, professional competitions are held in five categories.
