TV channel "Bolshoy Efir" ("Big Air") to broadcast unique version of ballet "The Nutcracker"
A production of the ballet "The Nutcracker" featuring multimedia stage design, originally performed on the stage of the National Centre RUSSIA, will be broadcast by the television channel " Bolshoy Efir". The performance can be watched during the New Year holidays. It is a symbiosis of classic Russian ballet and modern technology.
The production of "The Nutcracker" has carefully preserved all the best elements that constitute its world renown. This includes the globally famous music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and the supreme skill of the performers. The role of the Prince is performed by Igor Tsvirko, a principal dancer of the Bolshoi Theatre and an international competitions laureate. The leading soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre and Dance Open prize-winner, Kristina Kretova, plays the part of Marie.
Special attention in this production was given to the costumes. Theatre professionals created over 100 unique looks, which are stylistically combined with the digital scenery.
"The Nutcracker" ballet will be broadcast during the New Year holidays by the "Bolshoy Efir" TV channel according to the following schedule: 30 December at 19:30 (Moscow time), 1 January at 19:15 (Moscow time), and in the night from 7 to 8 January at 00:00 (Moscow time).
