The warmth of living nature: products by the family brand "Tatyeplota" at the Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA
The family
workshop "Tatyeplota" ("Thatwarmth") — a brand founded by
Lyubamir and Taisia Afonkin — represents the Ryazan region. The workshop
specializes in handcrafted wooden toys and original interior items. Nature has
become the main source of inspiration for its founders.
"We
never cease to be amazed by the wonders of nature, its diversity of colors,
shapes, and textures. Our logo features the Sun — the main source of warmth and
light in Nature. Our primary material is wood, which is also a wonderful conductor
and preserver of warmth. That’s where the name of our workshop, 'Tatyeplota',
comes from, and our dream and mission is to make the world warmer and
brighter," share Lyubamir and Taisia Afonkin.
The idea
for the workshop emerged 10 years ago, with the formation of the young Afonkin
family. This autumn, the brand celebrates its 11th anniversary.
"Lyubamir
used to make tiny wooden furniture for my crocheted toys. As he became more and
more involved with woodworking, we decided to commit to this seriously and for
the long term. We had no business plan, no strategy, no startup capital —
everything was based purely on love and intuition," recalls Taisia.
Among the
wooden products by "Tatyeplota" presented at the department store of
the National Centre RUSSIA, toys hold a special place. According to the
founders, they encourage children's imagination and, much like books, help them
create their own worlds.
The
Department Store RUSSIA at the National Centre RUSSIA is open daily, except
Mondays, from 10:00 to 20:00.
